This was our 22nd visit to Heron Lodge where the standard was, as always exceptionally high. The chalet is very comfortable, well appointed, clean, warm and has excellent beds. The view from the balcony is stunning, as we overlook the small island in the bay with all its wildlife ie herons, seals and numerous birds, a real joy to sit...

This is our second visit to the lodges. The standards are excellent all the comforts of home. Views are outstanding. We have stayed in Heron and Eider lodge both at the waters edge with stunning views of the area and lots of wildlife to see.
The area is accessible from the lodges making it the perfect location for enjoying the...

Although we go to Scotland every year this was our first trip to Assynt. The area was terrific with the most stunning scenery: we fell in love with it immediately. There are tremendous mountains to climb, some of them very challenging indeed. The sea and the lochs are simply beautiful and the wildlife is tremedous.
We stayed in Mallard lodge....

Stayed at Seaside cottage with 5 friends as our friend was getting married near by. The views and position were breathtaking and the space and comfort of the cottage was ideal. Lambs and deer everywhere, even the rain couldn't ruin our stay. Really impressed, will definitely be back.

Went up there last week for a wonderful relaxing week. Weather wasn't that great, but thats not Lochinvers fault! The lodges are in a wonderful position, very sheltered from the weather. Fantastically furnished, all mod cons - dishwasher, washing machine etc. Loads to do in the surrounding area, whatever the weather. Lovely lady welcomed you to the lodges & explained...

I stayed with a group of friends in both the Tigh a Chladaich cottage and two of the lodges in May 2011. The lodges are modern, Scandinavian-style and relatively small. The cottage is much larger (could sleep and house 8 comfortably), and with better views - but with significantly more dated interior decor. The immediate area is beautiful - with...

The comparison is being made between a large 3 bedroom house (as opposed to cottage) which can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people by including a den which converts easily into a fourth bedroom and a 2 bedroom Scandinavian style lodge which accommodates comfortably up to 4 - 5 people. The description ‘relatively small’ should therefore be interpreted within this...

We stayed one week at Seashore Cottage, which is a must. The cottage is very comfortable and very luxurious for Scottish terms. The surroundings and the location is fantastic. In the morning, the deer outside the door and many beautiful birds. Unfortunately we have not seen the otter! For children it is also a paradise. Nice climbing on the island...

My family stayed here for a week in April, and would have happily stayed on much longer. The chalets are very comfortable and well equipped, with everything you need to feel this is a home away from home (including- very helpfully- a washer/dryer and outdoor drying line). There were chocolates and fresh flowers waiting for us on arrival, as well...
