A really special place to stay. A beautiful house with warmth and comfort, open fires and filled with art and atmosphere. The setting is absolutely gorgeous with rolling fields outside. The house combines the comfort and standard of accomodation of an excellent hotel with the atmosphere you'll never find in any hotel. Val and Laura could not have been more... More

We just completed a 3 week holiday in Southern Ireland. We stayed at a dozen wonderful places on our stay. We booked Ballinkeele House on our exit from Dublin. We really appreciated the hospitality of Val and Laura. The elegant manor house of generations in Val's family is both grand and so very comfortable. We walked the ground around the... More

What a fantastic place, and such a warm welcome. We had a fantastic mini-break full of open fires, country walks and Irish hospitality at it's best. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted, as well as providing what we might need without asking. Wonderfully restored house, with modern art on the walls,... More

We stayed here in August 2012 and could not have been happier. The house and grounds are beautiful and Mary the owner is the perfect host. The room was gorgeous, with a four poster bed, bay window overlooking the grounds and an open fire. We loved the freedom to explore the house and even took Mary's labrador Pippa for a... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Ballinkeele House at end of August. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival from Mary who showed us through the formal rooms and serve us tea and cakes in the large drawing room. Sunlight was streaming through all the windows and the beautiful gardens and lovely walkways beckoned outside. Our... More

The rhododenron hedges were in full purple glory when we arrived in early June. Mary came out to greet us, weary from our trip and praising GPS. Still cold enough for a fire in the entrance hall. Mary lit it up shortly before we arrived home from an evening away. Then suggested that we take the smaller sitting room for... More

I stayed here recently and was delighted with the comfortable room, lovingly prepared breakfast and warm welcome. The atmosphere is authentically Irish. The home has been in the same family for generations and lovingly maintained. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and a delight to explore, as is the surrounding countryside. This property represents true Irish hospitality. If you're looking... More

We stayed a single night with this family in March. The family were most welcoming and hospitable which we really appreciated. We had a beautiful room and full access to all the gardens. Dinner in the evening was prepared by the good lady of the house and was delicious. We had tea and petit fours in the drawing room afterwards... More

Wife and I stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic time. We had a most enjoyable ( and delicious) salmon dinner with a three generational Irish family who were also at the house. You eat at one big table. i wasn;t sure about that but what an enjoyable evening! The house and grounds have so much character and... More
