It's cheap, it's a Ha'apai institution, it's a genuine Tongan experience. It's not 5 star accommodation, more like a hostel. It's not quiet. It's a nice place right in the "center" of Pangai. The room was clean and very basic. Breakfast was included in the price consisting of toasts, butter, jam and coffee or tea. It is close to the wharf, liqueur store, groceries and local bbq place. Right bellow the guesthouse, there is the only cafe/bar (Mariner's cafe) in Pangai.

Unlike other establishments on Ha'apai, Fifita's do answer the phone, which is why we ended up booking here, despite some of these reviews. Fifita was a warm and welcoming lady and her staff were very helpful and attentive. The deluxe rooms were disappointing. The bed was rock hard, there was no air flow and no fan in the room and you could hear every word or snore from next door. It got so bad that we ended up sleeping in the living room... More
