I went there with my boyfriend for one night and after staying in the Tulloch Castle Hotel (same hotel chain as Caledonian Hotel) we expected it to at least have a decent standart -even though it only had 2 stars. What we got was absolutely shocking though: We arrived pretty early and checked in as soon as we could, the... More

We love this hotel! It may be old, it may be slightly tired but it has great charm and character. The location is great, we again had the tower room which looks out onto the harbour and mountains and loch beyond. It may not be posh and fancy but your up in the north of Scotland remember, location, location, location.... More

A brief, belated review. We stayed here in March 2011 on a cheap long weekend break via the owners, Oxford Hotels. The hotel is rather shabby and needs upgrading but the food did not compare with the rest of the hotels characteristics. The restaurant was smart and the food good. Evening entertainment was provided by local musicians. It was OK. More

Clearly the hotel needs a good renovation, but the rooms were clean, good beds / bathroom, location is perfect, friendly staff, good breakfast, so overall good value for money... More

We stayed for 2 nights in November and really enjoyed our visit. We paid £52 per night for a double room which overlooked the sea and included a full cooked breakfast for 2 - incredible value for money. The room was basic but comfortable and warm, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. What can... More

My Wife and I booked a 3 night stay with breakfast & evening meal in October via an internet site for the festival. Excellent value for money for a comfortable room. The full english breakfast & 3-course dinner were very good indeed. The service was excellent, managing to serve our dinner promptly when we requested an early start for the... More

Thank you for taking the time to reply further to your stay, I am sorry that your stay in the Caledonian hotel wasn't a pleasant one. We are currently renovating the hotel, albeit, slower than initally planned but we do hope that in the near future you will give the hotel a second chance and I promise it will differ... More

We booked in here at short notice when the weather was very bad during our scottish motorbike tour. I had a single room. The room was en suite, comfortable and clean. It is quite a large hotel with a lot of coach parties staying. The staff were friendly and helpful, The bistro bar served good food and the breakfast was... More

Stayed one night with a tour group. The only complaint I have is that the bed was very soft and lumpy. Felt every spring. Our room had a large bathroom, which was clean. It's always fun to figure out how to use the plumbing fixtures in some of these hotels. Some hotels display instructions. This one did not however. The... More
