Three of us stayed for a few days. The superior double was a lovely room with comfortable bed; good bathroom. The single room had a very narrow bed for an adult - an upgrade to something wider is needed - but otherwise the room was comfortable. The food was variable rather as if the chef couldn't be bothered at times... More

Why can all hotels provide service and relaxed comfort as at Kirroughtree? The room was spacious, warm and comfortable and as a wheelchair user my husband found the room and bathroom was perfectly set up for his needs. The little touches awaiting us in the room - fruit, sherry as well as the more usual tea and coffee - together... More

The first impression is of a rather dilapidated old building in need of repairs. On arrival, a gentleman hurried us to our room and departed swiftly. "Tea and coffee, await your arrival," says the brochure. Well, there was an old plastic kettle, and when we turned on the 'cold' tap, to fill the kettle, out came hot water. There were... More

We stayed here over Easter 2013 for two nights. The Hotel is situated in rolling countryside with stunning walks and mountain biking tracks on the door step. Reached by a long impressive drive, offering glimpses of the hotel through the trees, the hotel has ample car parking and is set in extensive grounds. After parking the car, we were greeted... More

Just back from a two night golf break at this hotel. We were amazed at the quality of service we received. Every member of staff we met was happy, cheerful and helpful. They were prepared to spend time with you and nothing was too much trouble. They all seemed to know we were there to play golf and all asked... More

Stayed for 2 nights on DBB basis. Have stayed here twice before and was keen to return. Rooms, food and service are all excellent. Could not find a fault. From the personal greeting at the door and help with luggage from the car to the final check-out, our stay was high standard all the way.

Always a treat to stay here. Large comfortable rooms, very helpful and friendly staff who even greet you by name and can't do enough to help, a relaxing lounge with open fire in the winter and wonderful, wonderful meals. My only complaint.......it's too far away from home to visit more often.

I booked a "stargazing weekend" at this hotel for my boyfriend and I, he loves taking photos of the stars. Every aspect of the weekend was brilliant. The hotel staff cannot do enough for you, they are wonderful. The food is absolutely amazing! Worth going there for the meals and the lovely crackling fire in the lounge alone. We only... More

I have been keen to stay at this hotel for sometime but it was November 2012 before I finally had the opportunity to experience the delights of this lovely place. I have stayed at all the other McMillan Hotels including their flagship, Glenapp Castle, which is truly fabulous, however, I have to admit that Kirroughtree is my favourite. I prefer... More
