Had been planning a trip to the far north west for ages, and wanted somewhere a bit special to stay that didn't break the bank...location was much more important than the actual accomodation....but finding Dry Island meant we didn't compromise on either! We stayed at Otter Cabin (previously Creel Cabin) and I cannot rate this place highly enough, it's location... More

When the west coast of Scotland is getting better weather than the rest of the UK, why head south! Which is how I found Dry Island. Bathed in sunshine, this is a very special place as a tidal isle and in the middle of beautiful Wester Ross. It is unique, away from it all, beautiful, and Ian's langoustine and crabs... More

The situation on Eilean Tioram, a tidal island, looked fantastic. The two little self catering bothies would be perfect for young/ fit couples. However, with a small child the causeway and rocky, bumpy path from the carpark - a good 7 minute walk - takes the gloss of things a bit. We returned one night not realising that it was... More

After walking around our local port and watching a local fisherman land his catch, my wife decided to Google some places we could go fishing which would coincided with our anniversary. We found Ian's website and decided it looked perfect - lodgings and a chance to go out on a boat. We arrived on the Monday evening after a good... More

We went to Dry Island for the day and was totally blown away by the serenity and views of this place. We went out on a fishing boat to see how they catch lobsters etc.... And the whole thing was enjoyable and interesting and we was even dropped of at the jetty of the local bayside Inn for our lunch

We were lucky enough to find out about accommodation on Dry Island while in Gairloch in April, during a trip to have a quick look we met Ian who said we could book the Curing Station and bring our teen daughter as long as we brought her a bed. Bonus. We all had a thouroughly relaxing time and wish we... More

We stayed there for one week and enjoyed the great view, the quiet and the daily trips. Furniture should partially be refurbished, the kitchen facilities are average and should be checked for cleaness and completeness. Ian and Jess were very friendly and Ian took the luggage over by his boat but modalities of arrival should be cleard before starting the... More

We stayed for a week in the ground floor apartment on Dry Island. It is in a lovely location, and certainly the walk over the floating bridge makes for a unique kind of holiday. However, we found the apartment to be quite dingy: the bedroom and lounge look out onto the small back garden which slopes upwards and then there's... More

Loved our week at Creel Cabin, the ideal place to 'get away from it all'! First Class!

Have just returned from a week at Dry Island and we were sorry to leave as it was a great experience. We were looking for something to do for a week in October and took a punt of this place based on the website and the comments on this website. As we were driving from Southampton we were kind of...
