Fantastic B&B, warm and welcoming, comfortable, quiet, clean, with delicious cooked to order breakfasts. What also impressed us about Althea Library is the impeccable attention to detail - all sorts of thoughtful extra's in the room such as fresh milk for the tea and a little light over the kettle, and generous amounts of high end toiletries in the bathroom.... If you are reading this review then you are already thinking of staying in Padstow. After travelling extensively in Cornwall then Padstow is a great place to stay or use as a base to explore Cornwall. Althea Library is such a joy to visit. It is located in the quiet old quarter of the town, a few skips and hops... More

We have been fortunate enough to visit Padstow for the last few years, each year trying a different B&B from the top ten on Trip Advisor. Well, that is until we stayed in the Puffin Suite at Althea Library. Since then we have stayed a further four times, each time being as just asvgood as the last. Geoff and Jane... More

We had planned a five day trip to Cornwall with two days in Padstow, we chose to stay at The Althea Library after some research, we wanted a character home with comfort, we stayed in the yellow room which we loved. There was every possible thing you may need while away from home as well as a lot more for... More

We stayed in the Yellow Room for one night for a weekend visit to Padstow. We had a very warm welcome with tea/coffee and homemade flapjacks, lovely. The Yellow room being the smallest was more than adequate in size with a very spacious en-suite with soft towels and bathrobes. Every detail you could think of was covered. A good selection... More

We were getting rather stressed trying to find a B&B in padstow and stumbled, to our very good fortune, across this one. Jane was a wonderful host and made us feel welcome straight away. We were so lucky to have got the room too as it was pure chance that she had had a cancellation. The room was immaculate and... More

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The location and parking made our stay so convenient. Fabulous breakfasts, comfy beds and a very warm welcome ensured we had a really relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Loved Padstow, even on a rainy Sunday, sitting in a cosy cafe enjoying the views with our complimentary newspaper from... More

What a fabulous place to stay. My friend and I stayed in the yellow room for two nights. The B & B is beautiful and cosy. It is in a wonderful location with a short walk into the centre of Padstow. The breakfast is amazing. The amenities in the rooms are the best I have seen in a B &... More

Hard to add anything new to all the praise already heaped on this B & B. Jane and Geoff were so hospitable and there were so many extras that made the stay so comfortable. The Green Room was lovely and the breakfast was fabulous. Such an interesting building but a lovely homely atmosphere too.
