Having been on a previous trip to padstow, wanted to treat my mum to lunch at this culinary institution. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and if in some cases a little undercooked, made up for lack of experience with charm and attentiveness. As for the most important part - the food - we chose from the lunch menu... More

I've wanted to eat at this restaurant for such a long time and last night it lived up to my expectations. Four of us ate here and each of us could not fault the food,we had the turbot, hot shellfish and sashimi to start followed by two John Dory,Indonesian fish curry and steak all were sublime. My tip for those visiting... More

Having been a long fan of rick stein I was hoping that the restaurant would not disappoint- it did not. Tempura oysters were divine, and brought in stages to ensure they remained crispy. Scallops in a coriander type pesto- delicate and tasty. Sole meunière as it should be. Singaporean chilli crab brilliant - but, it takes so long to pick... More

A last minute decision to extend our Devon long weekend and travel down to Port Isaac was hijacked by the fact that Port Isaac was closed to traffic (effectively) because the place was beyond heaving.....that TV programme has almost destroyed the place in the summer months! So we decided to try for Padstow and via internet on our phones (not... More

My Wife and I were very impressed with the accommodation at the seafood restaurant. From the moment we checked in we found the staff very warm, hospitable and pleasant. It is obvious they are proud of their establishment and equally proud to be working there. Our room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and appropriate furniture. The bathroom... More

My partner and I dined at the seafood resturant for our anniversary celebration. Staff were very attentive and polite, food was of a fantastic standard with champagne to wash it down nicely. Also nice to see Paul Ainsworth dining behind us , looking forward to returning.

The title says it all! It's been 3 years since we visited and everything is still as it should be - marvellous! Crispy mackerel to start, hake for main, tarte tatin for pud! All washed down with a lovely Sauv Blanc & a dessert wine! Service unobtrusive but attentive.

We stayed here for a special occasion and ate in the restaurant twice. The food was excellent, service impeccable, although rather pricy. Our room had a lovely harbour view (we had room 3) but the curtains were very light and we were woken at sunrise (4.48am!) every day.

A must visit on a trip to Padstow, we excitedly dined on a very busy Tuesday evening. The restaurant and ambience are lovely but the service is not great. We waited 25 mins for the waitress to even take our drinks order. After a delicious starter our mains arrived, mine rubbery and my husband's cold (he had to send it... More
