My husband and I spent two wonderful nights at this historical home. The house is a living museum to Ireland...splendid antiques, paintings, etc. But, even more wonderful are the hosts who made us feel like family. The house is quietly positioned at the end of a long avenue. The rooms are spacious and private with views over the cattle grazing in the meadow. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. It was a unique stay given the depth of Irish history contained within its walls.
What I didn’t know before I arrived is that Clonalis is the ancestral home of the O’Conors of Connaught nor did I know the immense history that surrounds the O’Conors.
