We had to travel to Ireland at short notice for a family emergency and only needed a two night stay. With a little baby we wanted somewhere I could prepare her meals etc. Found Darley Cottage on internet. Duncan was so accommodating to allow us a two night stay (not the usual week as most cottages would expect you pay... More

DARLEY COTTAGE A quick trip to Ireland took us to the town of Carrickmacross where our gg grandmother was born in 1835. Apart from being the friendliest town we visited in our six weeks in the UK & Ireland, it also provided nearby Darley Cottage which has set new parameters for B&B’s. It is said ‘if you want something done,... More

We spent 1 wonderful week in April at Darley Cottage. The cottage is spacious, well equipped and has great standard. The service was fantastic and we look forward to coming back hopefully soon. Erling, Norway

We spent a brilliant holiday in Ireland at Darley cottage. Great place to stay with children - we had two families with altogether 4 adults and 2 babies/toddlers. Baby cots and a high-chair are provided, and overall the cottage is very well equipped (washing machine and tumble dryer, large living room, separate kitchen, showers in each of the rooms just... We are a family of five (we have 3 lively young sons) and we stayed here for 3 nights while we attended a wedding a Cabra Castle, which was truly fabulous! This beautiful cottage has everything. It's peaceful and quiet and extremely clean. There is a washing machine and drier, always handy to have. All three bedrooms have en-suites, and... More

My partner and I came across this B&B on a quiet country lane while travelling to Ireland to research his ancestry in Monaghan county. What a stroke of luck. Not only was the place just beautifully decorated and spacious but Duncan had even done some research on finding the childhold home of Ed's grandmother. We had the place to ourselves... More

Lovely cottage, beautiful surroundings, chilled and quiet, just like the old Carrickmacross countryside I remember as a child. Had a great time beetling into town, avoiding the geese up the road, going to Central butchers for great beef, chickens, hams, eggs, black and white puddings, if you ever there ask for the local spuds, delicious. Sipping Guinness in Lonegans (... More

My friends and I stayed at this charming cottage in April 2011 for two nights. We were attending a wedding at the nearby Nuremore hotel. The cottage is PERFECT. It has been beautifully decorated with all mod cons. We were made right at home by the owner Duncan who had beers and cider chilling in the fridge in anticipation of... More

While attending a wedding at the Nuremore hotel we booked Darley cottage to stay because of its close proximity. Photographs do not do this cottage justice. Its tastefully renovated, spacious and has everything you could need in a self catering capacity. Duncan was also very helpful recommending places to eat and offering to cook breakfast for us! Would have loved... More
