First time I've been to Carrickmacross and I couldn't have picked a better hotel to stay in. The Shirley Arms is full of character(s) and has a quaint charm that lures you in upon arrival. The rooms were modernly decorated and quiet, just what I needed after a days quad biking at the nearby Irish Country Quads. The food in... More

I didn't stay in this hotel on the day in question as I live in Carrickmacross but I regularly dine in the restaurant for lunch and I would consider myself as a loyal customer. I went for lunch on the 1st June with friends and the food was lovely as usual. So much so, I returned two days later with... More

Stayed for one night on a b&b basis and was pleasantly surprised. Checked in without any fuss and was given directions to the free car park out the back of the hotel - the car park at the front of the hotel only permits parking for 2 hours! The room was on the first floor and at the side of... More

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and can honestly say we had a lovely stay here! All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Rooms are spacious and perfectly adequate along with the bathroom. Food was amazing, something about the chicken wings which are to die for :-) We were here for a friends wedding and I... More

Hotel is in an attractive old building with modern interior. Rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Food in the restaurant was very tasty but portion sizes are very large. Overall very happy to recommend this hotel for anyone travelling in this part of Ireland. I was on business and did not pay my own bill so... More

Located at the end of the Main Street. Excellent parking on street or behind the hotel. Decor inside is top class. The food is fantastic, especially the Surf and Turf. (Steak and Sea food). Prices are at the top of the reasonable scale but the service is fantastic. Food can be served in the bar or restaurant. I like the... More

Really enjoyed our stay at the Shirley arms hotel. The staff are great, so pleasant and friendly. Dinner was delightful and more than reasonably priced. The hotel is modern, with very clean rooms, the family room we stayed in was huge. Would recommend and look forward to staying there again.
