Just back from a weekend break in Rossnowlagh, staying at the superb Fin McCool Surf Lodge. It’s right on the beach front, what a way to wake up in the morning - superb views of the beach from the room and a fresh cup of coffee! Had a double room booked, was clean, tidy, relaxed, felt very safe, secure and... More

Stayed here last year with my local surf club for the intercounties surfing competition. Great location, right beside the beach, clean, tidy, great kitchen. Can not praise Finn McCools enough. Going back this year too More

I stayed at this hostel last weekend and had a brilliant time. The hostel itself is newly and modernly furnished, clean and comfortable. The location is amazing, with a gorgeous beach right beside it. I wasn't going to do the surfing because I didn't think I'd enjoy it but in the end I gave it a go and am so... More

I stayed here last weekend with a group of friends. The hostel is bright and airy. Nice hot powerful showers. The staff are super chilled and friendly. The surf school is good value and I learned loads during my surfing lessons. Rossnowlagh itself is beautiful, the strand there is great for strolling and people watching. Great surf too! More

8 of us headed up to Rossnowlagh for Easter weekend for a bit of surf and a bit of craic. We were warmly welcomed by Neil and the rest of his team who looked after us really well for the whole weekend. We had a couple of lessons with the attached surf school which were brilliant. Everyone came in rosy... More

This surf lodge is the ideal backpacker style accommodation for a surf/beach break in Ireland. I stayed at Fin McCool Surf Lodge in August with my husband. The lodge is, quite literally, a stones throw away from the beach (stunning!) - It's nearly possible to roll out of bed and straight into the ocean. We had a double room with... More

The staff are very friendly, and as other reviews have said, the location is great, the beach is beautiful. But €50 for a double with shared bathroom and self-serve continental breakfast is a bit much. The building itself is a bit of an eyesore, but that fits with most of the "development" on the Donegal coast. At least it is... More

Stayed at Finn McCools for a long weekend and had a great time. The lodge is perfect or anyone wanting a chilled break beside the beach. Good bars nearby and if you don't fancy cooking try the Gaslight for food, fab! Surf boards etc to rent next door and beach only yards away, the owner Neil is a great host.... More

Ended up here by chance on a random weekend away with some friends- but will definetly be back! Such an amazing location right on the beach and our room had a fab view right down the beach. There's a local pub a minutes walk away and a few nice restaurants (we were too lazy to cook ourseleves but the kitchen... More

The hostel is in an excellent base for the various surf breaks in the area. Great advice and very friendly. Surf school adjoining for anyone wanting to rent gear or try surfing for the first time. More
