Beautiful location - secluded and quiet. Hospitable staff and easy fun snorkelling right off the beach. Fales are standard but more comfortable than some others we stayed in later on our trip. Meals were very generous and well-done. Was great for our family as the kiddo had plenty of room to run but was contained by the geography. Would also... More

We arrived at the Mutiatele Wharf at the same time as another couple of guests and were concerned by the small aluminum dinghy and choppy water, but all turned out OK! The manager, Tai, welcomed us at the wharf and helpfully advised that there was no shop on the island and so we should buy what we might need for... More

Namu’a Island is a small, beautiful, uninhabited island about a ten minute boat ride from Mutiatele, a village about 3km north of Lalomanu. At Mutiatele there is a little shop with a sign for Namu’a Island Beach Fales. The best thing to do is make a booking direct with the family that runs this place, either by phone or in... More

The place was beautiful, meals were very filling and the owner was very helpful at getting me back to the main island in time for a transfer I booked. My one word of warning though is for young women especially those traveling alone, don't let the boys that work there know you are single and don't agree to have a... More

Talofa Lava, We have read your review, and certainly take this complaint seriously. Safety of our guests, and particularly our single female travellers is very important. Since May 2012, Polynesian Xplorer have been working closely with Namu'a Island to undertake renovations on the island and improve our services to guests. Because we believe that the island is a true and... More

Vacationers beware, this place is only for those who do not expect much in the way of ameneties. Usually this can be a problem except this place is way to beautiful to matter. If you can stand sleeping in a simple fale, showering in an open concrete stall, and eating while the "waiter" waves a branch around your head while... More

We really enjoyed our stay here, While the amenities are very basic, they are clean and breakfast was good. We were a large group and took our own BBQ and food for dinner and had a fire on the beach on Saturday night. At low tide you can walk all the way around the island - takes about 1 1/2... More

I would recommend this island if you want to have an island getaway experience. It is peaceful, quiet, isolated and private. Only 1 family and staff live/work on the island plus you. My group really enjoyed this quiet experience. My friends, boyfriend and I stayed here for a night. If you arrive at low tide (we arrived ~2 pm), you... More

This is a truly unique place to stay but I cannot recommend it. As mentioned in a previous review, I also got a mild case of food poisoning, not surprising as there is no electricity on the island and therefor no refrigeration. If you arrive or leave at low tide be prepared to wade out a long distance to the... More

We stayed 3 nights at Namua Island and loved every minute. The island is just stunning! Beach fales accommodation, white sandy beach and turtles swimming all around. What more could you ask for budget accommodation. So very quiet away from traffic and noisy roosters. Afternoon naps were made easy with the peace and quiet. They have just built 6 brand... More

Ended up being admitted to hospital on IV drip. The island itself is lovely, but the standard of accomodation is not. And the dogs fought all the time which made for an unpleasant stay. I would not go back

Talofa Lava, We are ruly disheartened to hear that you had a negative experience back in 2010. We would like you to know that much has changed, as since May 2012 Polynesian Xplorer has been working closely with Namu'a Island to undertake development on the island, and to provide service training. We have upgraded some facilities, undertaken staff training, and... More
