After one of the most beautiful drives we've ever done -- Rt 33 El Cerrito to Cachi, then rt. 40 south, we found and fell in love with Hacienda de Molinos. This piece of paradise -- quiet, classic and elegant -- is in the middle of nowhere. The silence in the courtyard made our day. Beautiful sitting room with fireplace;... More

We stayed one night on route from Cachi to Cafayate. This historic hacienda is a wonderful oasis in the middle of nowhere. Molinos itself is a no horse town and the Hacienda is the only place of note. Our large traditional room was furnished with a sumptuous bed, beatiful antique furniture and an enormous modern bathroom. There is a splendid... More

We drove from Cafayate to Molinos - an incredible drive. It can be a little disconcerting arriving in some small towns in the middle of nowhere, but staying in Hacienda de Molinos (prior home to the last Governor of Salta appointed by the King of Spain) was perfect. On arrival we had some delicious empanadas in the courtyard under a... More

Nice looking place built around 2 courtyards. Fairly basic rooms. No aircon. Breakfast OK. Dinner restaurant pretty bad... meat as tough as old boots! (Bad for Argentina!). This is a good stopover between Cafayate and Cachi. Don't spend more than a day here! Wifi not working when we were there. (seems like a common problem in Argentina's more out-of-the-way places.

After a hot, dusty but fantastic drive through the stunning scenery of northern Argentina we arrived at Molinos, a tiny but picturesque village about 5 hours drive south of Salta. The hacienda de Molinos was was an oasis of colonial charm and hospitality in a gorgeous old hacienda. The rooms faced out onto internal courtyards with deep verandahs, trees and... More

The hotel itself was very beautiful and clean. We stayed there 1night. We Intended to stay two nights but realized quickly we couldn't use Molinos as a base. It is more of a stopover type of place. The views are great and the staff was nice. We were there in low season so we were the only people there, which... More

We arrived at the hotel at about 3 o'clock hungry and thirsty and, before we could blinik, were served delicious empanadas and a bottle of wine! Our Spanish is non-existent but the staff really made the effort to understand us and looked after us completely. We realised quite quickly that we were the only people staying that night and thought... More

As others have mentioned, don't go to Molinos for a lot of tourist attractions - but do go for an amazing drive and lovely accommodation. Food was good - wouldn't agree best in Argentina, but overall we found the food in Argentina quite bland.

After a long and bouncy drive from Salta, this was a really lovely hotel to arrive at. English isn't widely spoken by the staff, but enough to make oneself understood. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed and the pool was very refreshing. Molinos itself feels quite isolated and don't go here expecting things like internet or... More
