After we left Hayzview we decided to explore the lowveld since this was my first time. We travelled to Graskop visit Lisbon Falls, Brisbon Falls, God's Widow, and the Pinicalle from there we drove to Sabie to see the Mac Mac falls. We then head for Pelgrimsrus and continue explore Pelgrimsrus. We suddenly realise we where cought out by time... More

|This is a very quaint resort 16km from Pilgrimsrest. The hotel units are extremely spacious and are ideally catered for 2 adults but we could fit our two kids quite comfortably. The staff are extremely friends and there are few places in South Africa I have experience service this good. The resort has three sections, a hotel, timeshare and camping.... More

My husband and I recently had a lovely weekend away at Mount Sheba. The drive up to the lodge are rough, but definately worth the view. Mount Sheba is also situated in a very good area. The food and our room was very good. Our car even got washed complimentary before our departure on Sunday. Turn down at night was... More

We just spent 4 wonderful days at the Mount Sheba lodge in South Africa. You won our hearts with our personal fireplace started each evening, the 4-course, enjoyable dinners, the personalized services & stories at breakfast (with new friends we met), and a bar with a snooker table for late night, gentlemanly competition & scotch. The walks on your properties,... More

Mount Sheba is situated in fabulous location, there are protea trees on the hill side above and virgin forest with streams and waterfalls below. The walks are the best thing about the place, but the hotel has a charm all of its own and really comes to life when full. The road in is a challenge but as American friends... More

We were at Mt Sheba in September 2012 after a week of rain in the area so we could not enjoy what we are sure was a beautiful view around the resort. The fog was very thick and cleared slightly on the second day so we could see a little of the view. Due to all the rain we were... More

We were at Mount Sheba before and therefore looking forward to revisiting, among other to the wonderful dinners served. To our dismay, reviews on Internet sketched a bleak picture about catering. Not risking disappointed, we selected a range of heat-and-eat meals from Woolies prior to leaving. We further stocked up on our way with trout delights from Milly’s in Dullstroom.... More

We stayed in a very nicely furnished suite. A heater was provided which made things very cosy. However, the bedroom was upstairs and bathroom with toilet was downstairs next to the lounge! Our stay was ruined by the table d'hote dinner which was dreadful. My husband and I both agreed that it was the worst meal we have ever been... More

We stayed in a beautifully appointed, self-catering chalet surrounded by lush rain forest on two sides. The detail involved in the interior decorating, ensured that even our wildest expectations were exceded. Even the walking sticks for some of the more strenuous hikes are provided, as are hotwater bottles and ample loads of firewood to keep the homefires burning during cold... More

Its a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful hill and forest setting. Thatch, wood, fireplaces. Very relaxing, nicely furnished, lovely vistas. Close to Pilgrims Rest. Food is fair to average (table d'hote only) Staff are helpful but possibly need some further training. Be aware that the access road is fairly long, and whilst a 4X4 is not absolutely necessary, I wouldnt... More
