We enjoyed our stay in this Guesthouse for the following reasons: Warm welcome. Good access to city centre and close to Florida Street with plenty of restaurants and bars. Large room on first floor with balcony and view over the city. Nice bathroom, branded amenities and hair dryer. Good breakfast choice with excellent coffee. Car parking. There is a plunge-pool... I have been using the Palms geusthouse for years when I am on business in DBN. I have stayed in all the rooms over the years but my favourite has to be the Durban View room which is tastefully decorated and very comfortable (I have stayed in this room for a 3 month stretch) It has a beautiful view of... Although spacious and clean, my particular room had a clammy feel, perhaps because about half of it was below ground level. The slats in the louver window did not prevent the noise of traffic from a nearby main road, so It was quite difficult to sleep. The ambience was quiet unacceptable, and as no other room was available, I left... More

My wife and I stayed here while doing mission work in SA. Colleen and her staff are simply amazing in their desire to serve the guests; even to chasing away the monkeys if necessary so one may eat enjoy an open air breakfast. The accommodations were excellent and the view of Durban from our room was breath taking. We enjoyed... More

Ok, I have seen a lot of accommodation establishments over the years and so I am naturally rather critically. However, I could not find one single thing wrong with The Palms Guest House and its hosts Coleen and Susanne. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable they have created a heavenly place to stay in Durban. Large, well appointed rooms with attention to... More

From our beautiful room to the superb service everything at this B and B went well beyond our expectations. Collene went out of her way to meet our personal needs and we had a most enjoyable stay. The location is excellent as it makes good base for all of Durban's activities and the parking is secure and access safe. A... More

I booked the guesthouse during a business trip, as I prefer to stay in a smaller establishment, as it is a business trip I needed to consider budgets, this establishment was the best priced so I booked it. Well what an amazing place, I never expected such a BEAUTIFUL room and garden for the cost that I am paying! Modern,... More

This guest house is an absolute gem. Wether you're on holiday or business it is ideally located, about 10 mins to either beach or city centre. Colleen and Suzanne were wonderful hosts and very helpful. We arrived late afternoon after travelling all day and Colleen looked at me and said "would you like a beer", What a gal! The rooms... More
