Second time staying here, and once again we were thrilled. So lovely and clean and modern. Huge rooms. Great location with the restaurant right next door. Couple of minutes away walk to a dairy, food etc. thouroughjly enjoyed our stay and will definetly be back. thanks guys

We were very happy with our choice as rooms there are lovely, clean, very spacious and nicely decorated. With fully equipped kitchen which even includes an oven breakfast and dinner were sorted. Bed wasn't super comfy, a bit wobbly, but we are quite picky about beds. We would definitely stay there again.

Although we only live in Christchurch which is only 100 kilometres from Tinwald. My wife and I decided we need to make the most of a 3 day break and get out of CHCH after work. We stayed there twice this trip and would recommend the units. They are spacious and exceptionally well equipped with comfortable beds and a good Internet connection. The staff are very competent and friendly while the restaurant is quite good.

On our travels from Wanaka to Christchurch we decided to break our trip and booked into the Tinwald. So glad we did. It was spacial, clean, friendly, modern and quiet. A lot better than the other accommodation we had booked. Highly recommend.

Obliging hosts and a spacious unit for the tired traveller. Heater was on when we arrived so room was warm. Hosts even brought us ice from the bar next door. Super clean unit and good value. Back from the road so relatively quiet. Easy parking.

Very nice spacious unit. Huge bed, very comfortable. Great bathroom. No noise problems. Very friendly hostess. Good location, on outskirts of town. Restaurant next door. Would stay again.

If you're driving from the south of the country towards Christchurch and need a place to spend the night, I suggest you avoid the town of Timaru (where everybody seems to stop) and patiently drive a bit longer: as you get into Ashburton, stop at the Tinwald. We stayed for a night to escape the ChCh aftershocks a week after the quake Feb 22nd 2011 quake and all managed to get a great nights sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful. The unit was clean and spacious and modern. Thanks!
