The Kings is well located at the Junction and very close by to the Suitcase and The Keg bars and restaurants. It also has it's own bar and bar meals are available. It is only really opened for the ski season though. 100m from the entrance to Mardi Gra. Rooms are all refurbished, a little on the small side but... More

I stayed at the Kings Ohakune in Sep 2012. I booked a twin room, which was basic but clean. The shared bathroom was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is an onsite bar and restraurant.

Friends and I stayed at Kings for 2 nights. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and warm with plenty of hot water when we needed it. Breakfast is basic continental but there is plenty of it. On second night we ate in restaurant/bar and the meals were great value and huge for the price. We would definitely eat... More

My wife and I stayed at Kings for a week with our two infant children and were very pleased with the room and the service. Tracy and her staff were very friendly, and went out of their way to keep us comfortable during our stay. They even had toys available for our son to play with while we ate in... More

We (myself & Husband) have just returned from a 2 night stay at King's - where we have stayed before on a number of occasions. We got ZERO sleep both nights because of the racket coming from the bar (which was open til about 2am), music or bass, or all of the heavily intoxicated patrons drinking, horrifically swearing, having domestic... We stayed @ Kings Ohakune for two nights in school holidays. We had a Queen ensuite and Twin ensuite. Rooms were spotlessly clean and warm. Staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, even let us keep the room past checkout on our last day when someone didn't want to get out of bed to ski. The bar was cosy, food as... More

Kings offers budget accommodation - we had a twin room - shared facilities for a three night - two day ski expedition. The rooms we had have just beds - nothing else. The beds were very comfortable. The room was exceptionally well heated via a central boiler system. The shared bathroom facilities were excellent, very modern with plenty of hot... More

I stayed here at Kings while on business for four nights. I was in a Queen en-suite, which consisted of pretty much a bed, table, and bathroom. The shower was small, but had great water pressure. I arrived on the last day of the ski season and, as a result, missed out on the restaurant and bar being open. My... More

We've just recently returned from our trip to Ohakune, where we were staying for two nights. Our room was #17, Queen en-suite. Of course there was no luxury, but everything was fine! Room was clean, radiator was working well. NO BED BUGS! :-) - we were afraid of them reading the reviews here before our trip. Breakfast is simple. The... More

Stayed MID week in a Queen/ ensuit. Room supposed to be newly renovated, would have hated to have seen it before. $120 for one person. No electric blanket. TV channel I, 2 and 3. All snowy, almost unable to see. Management comment " Oh we are going Digital next year" BIG DEAL. The whole country has to be digital as... More
