We stayed at the Spyglass for two nights during our visit to Homer. The Spyglass is a homey place where you just can’t help being comfortable. Pat and Arden are superb hosts. Arden is a real character with plenty of tales to tell, which always entertain. Pat is a fabulous cook and her breakfasts should be listed in the B... More

Wonderful hosts; great breakfasts. A good place to return after a day of fun. I do not know what else to write but there is a minimum of 200 characters so: "The granola was great. The cinnamon rolls, too. The coffee was hot and the sky was blue." Still not enough characters$???;((((@@@@:))). Yikes! I don't want to count characters. Well,... More

First experience was a moose just outside our suite. The room was filled with Pat's wonderful quilts. It was quiet, well-located, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was terrific - I'm still trying to get her to ship those rolls to Texas! And, sometimes the conversation turned to Santa Claus! Great experience!

We spent three days in Homer, AK this July/August 2012 fishing and bear watching. It was so much fun. We stayed with Pat and Arden owners of Spyglass Inn B&B and they just added to a delightful visit. Pat was so kind to make us breakfast to go because of our very early morning tours and when we were able... More

The breakfasts and hospitality make up for any quirks in the layout of the inn (the downstairs rooms are cozy, but you will be taking your luggage down a gravel path about 50 yards). The rooms feature gorgeous handmade quilts, and Arden & Pat are interesting and gracious hosts. Breakfast is served family style & consisted of eggs, bacon, waffles,... More

Debated about traveling down to Homer and then having to back track back up to Girdwood. Loved Homer, and our B&B. Pat was a great host, with a yummy breakfast. Our room was neat and clean, comfy bed. Pat advised a restaurant for dinner, and it was a great suggestion. Definitely a good choice.

I stayed at the Spyglass in this August and recommend it highly. Pat, the owner, is among the most gracious hosts you could meet. She is warm, outgoing, and knows everything that is going on in Homer. She is a phenomenal cook. Pat is a card-carry member of Slow Food, meaning she cooks with local, natural foods. Her breakfasts are... More

My 15 year old daughter and I stayed in the Fireweed Room for three nights on a mom and daughter's mini-getaway. The B and B was spic and span, well appointed, and our own room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the fireweed quilt very lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, wth lovely, comfortable service. It was so nice to... More

...and not just because the food is appealing; Pat and Arden are the sort of folks with whom conversation at the table comes easily. Their home is a haven of elements comprised of family, well-lived and dynamic lives, community activism, arts, culture, and of course food that both wows and satisfies. We recommend letting your Homer agenda allow time for... More
