We stayed here for the close location to Manuel Antonio. It was a short bus ride away. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The absolute best part was sitting in the cozy dining area and having sloths slinking around. They also have a great eco-friendly mission. I hope to go back someday! (My... More

It is ok for one night but the second one your back will regret it. We stayed in the "villa" bedrooms. Staff was friendly but the place clearly needed a bit maintenance. If possible, go for the at least next price range.

Where to begin?? Pretty much the oddest travel hotel experience I've had in quite a while. The hotel it self is OK for a semi budget hotel, it is what you'd expect for 50 bucks a night in a busy touristy place, the mattresses in the rooms were awful, the AC was loud and the room strangely never got dark,... My huzzie and I loved Mono Azul from the moment we walked in. Rocia not only checked us in promptly, but has painted many of the great art pieces throughout the hotel. We stayed three nights in April, and will stay three more in May. Great having your own kitchenette and the staff was great with getting ice, a hair-dryer... More

In November 2012 my wife and I along with another couple spent three nights in Quepos/Manuel Antonio at the Hotel Mono Azul. The staff was friendly and the rooms quaint. The best part of Hotel Mono Azul is the bar and restaurant. The food is excellent and the drinks are inviting, though limited in selection.

I booked a room and when I got there I was suprised. It was in a beautiful garden setting. They were great people that run a nice place. Will go back. Right on bus line to park or Quespos, and cabs are cheap. I will go back.

The Standard Room seemed a little overpriced for what we got, but we had a chance to look at the other rooms on the property and it looked like those would be much more comfortable. Definitely a "money-saving" option, not a luxury hotel by any means, but it was nice to have space to walk around and 3 different pools... More

We are grateful for your response and take all our reviews to heart. At Hotel Mono Azul, we pride ourselves on having accommodations for every budget and traveler. That being said, our Standard Rooms are the most basic type of lodging that we offer and do not have the space and amenities of our other rooms. As this reviewer said,... More

Great hotel, good food, and nice grounds. The rooms could use an upgrade, and it would be nice if there was a safety deposit box in the room. If it was closer to the beach we would have stayed longer. Cute cat at this resort! I love how the resort is trying to help preserve wildlife.

I travel with a group of students. We love the idea of the place to support conservation of biodiversity. The room was nice, a little close to the road, but wasn't noisy. The staff was very helpful and give us good recommendations about the area.
