We stayed here for 3 nights. Great location, clean, on the beach, nice rooms with kitchens, close to the convenience store, has a small restaurant with its own chef. We saw monkeys playing right in front of us, sloth hanging in the tree just above the pool. The kids loved the pool. Great place. Will definitely go back.

We just returned from another visit to Verde Mar. Everything has been painted, windows replaced, the quaint (but probably not safe for kids) porch railings have been replaced with attractive iron railings. My girlfriend ended our Costa Rica trip at this lovely hotel, perfectly situated steps from the sand of the most amazing Manuel Antonio beach. The staff is helpful, the hotel is quiet, and the pool is the ideal spot to end an evening. I highly recommend it!
