I loved this place. True, no A/C, but the lodge was clean and comfortable. Simple but very cute! (It is a lodge, afterall, in the middle of the rainforest.) The lights were dim but I believe blazing "city lights" would scare away the animals. It was very fun to be woken up by the howler monkeys every day (hard to... More

After a long boat ride we were pleased to arrive at the Pachira Lodge. The rooms were simple but comfortable and very clean. I know we were in the jungle but the lack of AC was an issue. It was very hot! We did ask for an extra fan and it helped. The food was also simple but the staff... More

I loved this lodge nestled on the banks of the Tortuguero canal in Costa Rica. The sounds of nature were amazing! Everywhere you looked you saw animals. I loved the cabin....very basic, but so worth it! Would go back in a heartbeat.

we visited Pachira Resort at the end of May 2013, just as the rainy season was starting. We toured the adjacent small town of Tortuguero as well as the beach where the green turtles lay their eggs starting in July. We also went Ziplining just adjacent to the hotel and toured by the canals by boat. The highlight of our... More

I stayed at Anhinga Lodge as part of a Caravan tour. The wildlife is absolutely amazing and the birds, howler monkeys and crabs *under the walkways in numerous holes) right outside my lodge were really something. I wished I had brought a tape recorder to record the amazing jungle noises too. All in all, I am really glad I got... More

After an interesting boat ride to the lodge I was immediately in love! The raised board walk to our cabin was filled with wildlife...from a sloth hanging in the tree, a porcupine taking a nap above him, howler monkeys squabbling with each other and playing with their young to a nice assortment of butterflies...and all this before we unpacked. I... More

We are happy we saw the whole area but the lodge that is situated in the middle of it all and therefore has the perfect location is very very basic . A cabin in the forest with the minimum facilities and almost in edible food . We stayed only one night so as to enjoy the river drive and leave

As part of the Caravan.com tour of Costa Rica, we spent two nights and days at this hotel and touring the area including the Turtle centre. The hotel and food was very good, one hint, the rooms have no air-conditioning, the climate is hot and humid so be warned.
