The rooms are nice and with a view on the mountain is always good. The service is beyond believe. Making you feel special is the main ingredient. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport, which makes it ideal for catching the flight back home. The taxi ride is $10-$15 each way. We stayed at the Marriott Costa Rica for a week with our kids ages 11-17. The rooms were nice but the girls wished the washroom had been bigger and brighter. This is a great resort to relax. It is not "near" much - you can't walk to many places; the airport is about 15 min away and San Jose is 25 min. Every time we come to Costa Rica we stay here first to relax and plan the next few days! It is a beautiful hotel in the Spanish Colonial style with very nice rooms and good food! The pool is lovely and there is a spa and a nice gift shop! Sometimes we stay here before and after our trip!
