I have been to Goa 3 times and have been on the overnight trip to Shanti everytime, i wouldn't go to Goa without going! I would throughly recommend Shanti and the whole Jungle Book trip I think it is fantastic. I personally love the mud hut and the whole jungle experience, yes the mud huts are basic but you're in... This place is a real experience. Bad accomodation, Elephants living within 50 feet of the rooms, Elephant dung, cow dung, everywhere! Only cold water for showers, no shelter from the sun , mosquetoes everywhere, bed like rock , like a hotel from hell, FANTASTIC ! wouldnt have missed it for anything

I have come to the conclusion that there are two types of tourist. a/ The ones who like to stay within the sterilised air conditioned environment of hotels and discuss the imagined faults with their fellow whingers around the dinner table. b/ Those who are prepared to look though the faults (if any) to see the true beauty and love... Yes, the coach was dreadful with no air conditioning, but I wasn't spending the two days on the coach so it was bearable (just) - take plenty of water.... More

We have been going to goa for many years and had never tried this excursion, it should have rang alarm bells, when the disclaimer form came round , saying that if you did not want to stay because of the primitive living conditions then you could return on the bus to a nearby village and then return back to you...
