3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2013 NEW

We stayed in this hotel during our last chennai trip for a wedding. The booking was for 2 nights, but we checked out in a day. We had booked 2 rooms and the dissatisfaction was related to one of the two. Maybe it was this particular section of the hotel. The check in was smooth and the staff was courteous.... More

Only thing decent about this hotel is its location. Just a few metres from the T.Nagar shopping belt. The breakfast is so pathetic and way below standards. The roof top garden is mosquito infested and the food served is so mediocre. Hotel staff are not that friendly. The rooms are basic, very run down. The bathrooms are very poorly maintained,... More

The room interiors and bath room fittings are worn out, the switchboard attached to the bedside table and plug points were not working. Though there was provision for hot water in the bath room, i couldnt find hot water till 9 am. The buffet breakfast in the ground floor restaurant had limited but good quality items. I had not tried... More

The ONLY thing which works in favor of this hotel is the location. The main market area of T.Nagar is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are okay but the decor could be better. Although the roof-top restaurant has a nice ambiance, the quality of food is just about okay. Room service is below average and... More

I had been to the restaurants in this hotel multiple times before. So when my usual place did not have a vacancy on short notice, I decided to try out staying in this hotel. First the good things - Brilliant location, reasonably clean room, standard fixtures, hassle-free check-in and good sleep quality. The bathroom, though small, had running hot water... More

Located in the city, Clean business like rooms. No separate no-smoking areas. Lobbies can be smelling of cigarette smoke as the first floor meeting rooms are often busy with corporate meetings (at least they were when I stayed there). Breakfast is not included in the room tarrif. La carte menu available with limited choice of food. Service in the restaurant... More

The hotel is centrally located, suitable for business activities. This Budget hotel rooms are generally in order. The rooms are clean and service quality is average. The front desk staff should have been more polite. Restaurant is average in standard.

We stayed at the Raj Palace twice while in Chennai, then once at an upmarket hotel that cost maybe AU$50/night more... This one was overall better! Great location, walking distance from shops and markets, friendly and professional staff that had good English (in person), clean rooms (although old style bathroom which was a tad shabby) and best of all, a... I was adviced by a local friend to stay here, at my arrival i did not found the front desk very helpful, they showed me the room. It was very depressing. And the price of RS 2500 was very overpriced. They wanted to pay me RS 5000 in advance. After staying 5 minutes in the room i felt very depressed... More
