We reserved a room at this hostel some months ago. We were offered a semi private triple with a/c at $30 a night. On checking in we were told it was $48.50 a night. Luckily I had printed a full transcript of our emails backwards and forwards so they honoured the $30 and boy was I glad they did! At... More

Hostel this is not, unfortunately for the budget minded traveller this resort takes full advantage of it's 'remote island' status to gouge guests. The rooms are relatively cheap but this is more than made up for with menu options including $9 basic salads... 'Private' rooms go for around $38 and are attached via opened ceilings that ensure every turn, twist,... More

Wishing I could talk to the people who gave this place an excellent review to see if we're talking about the same hostel. my experience involved lost reservations, dirty rooms, dirty bedding, food cold when it should be hot, hot food when it should be cold, lack of privacy in divided rooms, room locks that don't work, dirty shower with... Bocas Bound Hostel treated me and my friends with the utmost respect and decency with air conditioned rooms for $15 a night in high season and a great communal kitchen to sleep and eat was a joy. Only a <10 minute jungle walk to the spectacular Red Frog beach full of bonfires and natural wonders (not to mention the jacuzzi... More

We stayed 5 nights in a semi-private (which was offered as such via email). ROOMS: Aware of the fact that theres no "real" privacy, we were quite happy with our room. There's a corridor, 3 rooms and a spacious bathroom in each unit. Yes, the 33$ rooms are rather small, next to the double bed there's about the same area... More

Unfortunately a few weeks prior to our trip, we ended up having to cancel due to family tragedy. I wrote to Bocas Bound making them aware of our cancellation and indicated I would require a refund. (They had charged my credit card when I made the reservation over two months in advance!) The policy they advertise is "Email cancelation is... More

Stayed 2 nights here with the girlfriend. Can't comment on the dorms but I heard they were better than the privates. The room we stayed in was not a room, to call it that would be an insult. I'm sure some prison cells are better. It was little more than a bed in a very small windowless concrete block with... More

Kitchen was awful, even for a hostel. Bugs, Dirty, Broken Eggs, More bugs, etc. On an island where there is no option but to cook your food, or buy it from the restaurant on they own (which isn't too bad). All in all, awesome island, great beaches, ok beds, good common area, but need to fix the kitchen area.

Bocas Bound is a hostel with a public kitchen and nice rooms. Clean and feels safe. You have to walk through the jungle for five or ten minutes to get to the beach. During the rainy seasin that will be tough... The beach is nice but has big waves and rip tides. That is no big problem for those who... More

this hostal is definitly off the beaten track, resp. is away from the beach, away from town & far away of having a charming comen area! The pizzas are really good, but the privacy of rooms are defenitly not. If you think you have a private room you're far away from the truth, the rooms are connected at the top... More
