This was my second visit after a decade in May 2013, It is unbelievable the transformation the property has gone through, the staff, the food, rooms, no words to express my first impression .. overall this can be called heaven in paradise. Recommended for the traveler who will enjoy superior indulgence and a bit of pampering. Well done team Amaya!!!!

Amaya Lake cannot be faulted on its picturesque setting. The lake itself together with the well manicured surrounds and wildlife are I think the strong point of this hotel. The food is reasonable. Breakfast had a wide array of western and Asian selections. Dinner was definitely more western orientated but it was nice enough. The rooms however left a bit... More

We stayed only one night but wished we had stayed two. Very peaceful and serene resort built on the lake. Beautiful views. Our bungalow was huge (we had number 14). Split level with a lovely comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. This is a very large resort and I would not particularly like to be plonked way up the back... More

It was one of the most enjoyable stays for me and my little family at Amaya Lake during the Wesak weekend. We were warmly greeted at the check-in and over all services were very much up to the high level of expected standards. The most valued quality was "never say no to a guest's need" attitude. The surroundings were fantastic.... More

Amaya Lake Resort has lovely surroundings and they really take care of the gardens. The service, however, is weak and the rooms are a bit tired (though, pretty comfortable). It has a nice pool, though it is not a very relaxing one as guests can get rowdy. We also had bad experience with the restaurant: we had asked for the... More

A nice place to stay and relax to see the cultural triangle. Hired a tuktuk and took it here. Not cheap but food is good if you can get over the buffet. Expensive drinks. Huge pool. Breakfast ends/disappears at 0930 sharp.

Our experience in Amaya Lake was unique. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink. Our room was a inside the forest and just next to a lake. Every room is a lovely cottage that is spread around this sprawling property. The set up is of a Sri Lankan village. The pool is amazing and the bar in the... More
