On my one night in Aguas Calientes I decided to splurge at Sumaq. So glad I did! Impeccable service, a huge room overlooking the river with jacuzzi tub. Best of all, dinner was included in the rate and it was the best of my trip. Savor your stay at Sumaq, especially since the town itself is rundown and undesirable.

We arrived in Aguas Calientas mid-morning which was too early to check in. However, the Hotel staff was amazingly hospitable. We had our own staff person who brought refreshments, gave us an orientation, contacted our guide and made sure our rooms were cleaned ASAP. The hotel is at the base of the famous Machu Picchu. Rooms were gorgeous and big. The bathroom was very modern, huge and beautiful. Our balcony overlooked the rushing river.
