We stayed one night in Chefchauen; we found this place on the Lonelyplanet book with no reservation. The hotel is pretty though there is not much light. Price was honest. Our small room was nice with a small window on the patio. Bathroom was nice but there is a curtain as a door which doen't give you much intimacy. Of... More

What can be said about this Dar that is positive except for the girl Hana working there? Small pokey rooms with no air & a damp smell as the bathroom had so little ventilation.Rooms that are so close that you can hear what goes on next door. The bed was uncomfortable & small; anybody over 1.70 would have their feet over... Overall we enjoyed our stay at dar tarrae however it wasn't without its problems. Room downstairs is not to be stayed in. It's too noisy at night with the whole family singing and dancing or watching telly. However moved rooms on the second night and had an excellent few more days. It's chaotic but the sons hard work and excellent... More

Chefchaouen is a town built into the mountain. The medina is bright and cheerful and painted blue. The Hotel is so pretty, a little doll house. Very clean and decorated beautifully. Hannah is very helpful and speaks all languages. Breakfast is terrific.

We loved our bunk beds on the top floor, and the little door to our room! And being on the top floor, we felt like we had the terrace to ourselves. Bathroom was just a few steps outside the room, which was fine with us. Internet connection was quite weak at times, but the fast connection at other times made... More

We visited Chefchaouen with a group and took up all but one or two of the rooms. The manager and his wife have an excellent gift for hospitality. My wife and I stayed in a room with a private bathroom and double bed. It was a very nice room and we felt at home. We were treated to a continental... More

My husband and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with friends in other rooms. It was a wonderful location for visiting the old city. The rooms were very clean and quaint, just packed with charm. The hotel is a traditional style for the area built around a courtyard to keep things cool. Some bedrooms had bathrooms with the room... More

I loved so many things about this hotel: great service from the staff, amazing breakfast (included) and dinner (upon request), cute rooms, unique layout of the rooms, nice courtyard and seating areas, and a rooftop with a view. I will definitely stay there again if I go back to Chefchaouen!

Dar Terrae is located inside the medina (old city) so you have to walk there. It is a 4 story converted villa. so there are many stairs - some of them tight. :)

My husband and I returned to Dar Terrae for our second stay and were equally delighted as the first time we stayed there in Nov 2010. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, and the fireplaces are a huge attraction. You have to pay a small amount for wood but it's worth it. We were on our way through for one... More
