We stayed there for 2 days, it was a awesome place to stay. The only thing I didn't like was the food. It was bland. Most of the guests here are foreigners, so I guess the food is more to match their taste. Bird sanctuary is a must vist place. Overall it was a good experience including the drive on... More

Large rooms in a restored Maharaja's palace and hunting grounds made for a more interesting and authentic stay than at a generic hotel. Very large room and bath with carved Indian bed and marble floors. Food at buffet adequate, nothing special. Good location for our touring of the countryside.

Nice and huge property, two kilometers from the Bharatpur Bird sanctuary. Laxmi Vilas Palace belonging to the Raja is now converted into a hotel. The huge lawns in front are inviting you to sit out and enjoy clear sky. Nice ambiance in the dining hall with courteous staff and good variety of buffet lunch and dinners. Rooms are big with... The old building is very charming, and our large room, with its cusped arches and beautiful furniture, was so atmospheric. A pity breakfast was not served there but in the new wing, which is not bad but does not have the same charm. From the limited restaurant menu, Indian food was good, Western food best avoided. Staff were friendly and... More

Beware hotels with Heritage in their publicity! Laxmi Vilas is the older cousin to the newer Laxmi Niwas Palace and shares dining facilities and the swimming pool. Its a bit of a hike from Laxmi Vilas to the dining hall, pleasant enough on a fine warm day, but less so in the rain! The rooms we had were on the... More

We stayed here as it is near the bird sanctuary at Bharatpur. Our room was in the old building and was fine. The inner courtyard is a very pleasant place to sit and recover from serious sightseeing in Agra. The only slight downside for us was the food. Although we were shown a large menu in the afternoon when walking... More

We stayed here for two nights 15th & 16th February 2013. There are now two hotels on this site. The original heritage hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace and a newer building called Laxmi Niwas Palace, both under the same ownership. We had a room in the older building up on the top floor, many flights of stairs and winding corridors. Room... More

This should have been a good experience. The hotel is a lovely heritage property. Our room was clean and comfortable. But the service and attention to detail leave much to be desired. A few examples out of many: my sheets were much too small for my bed, and as a result could not be tucked in. I am a restless... More

I chose this hotel as my base to visit Deeg, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra (Taj Mahal) as day trips. It is a restful alternative to busy Agra. I stayed 3 nights. I had a real fight with the morning receptionist to get a good room, which I wanted as I was staying 3 nights when most guests only stay one... More
