Hui Boutique was a very refreshing place to call home for a night after a less than impressive stay at another property in neighboring Tangkou. Hui is a perfect blend of old and new. We really appreciated the dark and intricate woodwork and rustic (vintage doesn't seem to be the right term but I suppose that's the proper description) furniture... More

this might be just the second hotel I've stayed in that has a really unique flavor: a restored old, Hui style house with just the right blend of modernity in it. tucked in a small alley along Lao Jie in Tunxi, this place provides a haven for those who want to get away from highly commercialized area. Though I haven't... More

I thought this was a super little hotel, a lovely courtyard entry area with affable resident cat, helpful staff. They had variable command of English but gave sound advice on places to go and how to get there, and helped us book into a magic hotel in Chengkan. Good and properly equipped rooms, with reasonable room prices. We loved the... More

Amazing BB. The room looks really authentic Chinese style with all the furniture. Everything in the bathroom is modern but still looks traditional. Has AC to keep out the heat and humidity. A little hard to find as it is in an alley with no street name. We did however arrived after midnight from our train from Nanjing. There we... More

The Hui Style Boutique Hotel consists of two renovated houses that share a small open air courtyard. The hotel entry is simple doorway off an alley into the courtyard. This hotel is charming! The proprietor, Ben, has collected a wide array of unique decor objects from the Ming and Qing dynasties. They are used to richly decorate the small common... More

If you've never stayed in a Traditional Chinese inn you will really appreciate the experience of an authentic Hui Style hotel. It's obvious that much love and attention has been poured in to the restoration of this building. The staff is lovely and Ben is warm and accommodating. I wish I had been aware that there is left luggage storage... More

This is a trip into the past with 21st century plumbing and wifi. The place has been rebuilt using original materials (old) and has the feel of old China. Ben, your host, is a jewel with a great depth of knowledge about history and current things to see and do. His English is great.

Decorated with much love, this hotel gives you an authentic idea of Hui culture. The hotel only opened last year after thorough renovation of an old house in the centre of town (situated only 1 minute by walk from Old Street/老街 where most restaurants and shops are). Thus, despite it's old atmosphere, the place is equipped with modern facilities (bathroom,... More

Ive been living in china for two years and was looking for a place to stay in town. I hate large hotels and love a more local feel. This place was exactly what we were looking for. The owner was very helpful and the girls at the desk were great. The only(slight) complaint I have is we had to stay... More

I chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and I had no regrets. It is just 10 minutes from the airport and I needed a place to stay overnight before my journey up to the top of Huangshan the next morning. Rooms are small but spotless with nice artistic touches. There were electric blankets and heaters which kept me warm... More
