We were concerned on reading some reviews but found this hotel excellent. Yes there is building work but this has to be done and did not affect us. The service, position and breakfast food /service was great. The view etc from the top floor pool/bar area must be one of the best in the area.

Not a Pestana by any means; decor is good; their food is the worst in all Rio..... better off at any botequim nearby with poor reviews.
treated like cattle, and at €1100.00 per night, was expecting something else.
if in Copacabana.... keeping the Palace at a lower rate the overall experience is totally diferent.

What a terrible hotel- can hardly believe our normally super reliable travel agent booked us into here- extremely disappointed.
Clearly the Pestana chain do not care about their reputation or their customers-
