We wanted to stay at the mango tree longer but since they were booked, we moved to Yaya for 3 nights. It was just okay--really expensive for what you get. Our room had AC, but was tiny and the shared bath was always dirty or a bit flooded. The location was great--right in Ipanema and we felt save, which is... More

I always stay in single rooms and they are spacious and comfortable. No luxury but well decorated and charming. The breakfast at the bakery besides is delicious and keeps you up till lunch easily.

We've stayed during last holly day. First of all I'd like to put that I'm not a cleaning freak. I've been to almost 10 hostels in different countries. They classifies themselves as Bed & Breakfast. They should be just bed. They're definitely a hostel. The breakfast is a ticket they give you to have at the delly store by the... More

YAYA disappointed me and my girlfriend during our stay in Rio. YaYa's greatest attribute is its location. Yaya failed to provide accurate information during the booking process, comfirming multiple prices. When we arrived our room was occupied and we were put in another room of single beds, not a double room which we booked. The breakfast, which was great, was... More

The staff at Yaya are friendly, and my room was good-sized. Rooms in Rio are pretty expensive, and the value at Yaya wasn't great, but it was about average for Rio. Breakfast is only adequate; they give you a voucher for the little diner next door, and you have limited choice there. Overall it's recommendable. My warning is to be... More

Went to Brazil on a business trip so I decided to stay a couple of days to see the city by myself, found the Yaya Rio on internet and it really is as coxy as it looks, the location allows you to feel like one of the Ipanema neighbours.

The hotel is simple, but clean, and the rooms are adequate. The bathrooms are shared, but very clean. The location is great. But I don't recommend it to anyone, except if they have a fallback plan. I had made a reservation there through one of their partner websites, and I even took care to confirm it by phone call, but... More

We stayed in the Yaya hotel for two nights, at the end of our holiday. The previous nights we had stayed closer to the beach, so this was the only..problem. About 4 blocks from the beach is close enough though, near the main street in Ipanema, restaurants and shops, not bad. Internet access, but not free. No tv in the... More

Yaya is very central for everything in Ipanema, the section of beach at the end of Rua Farme de Amoedo is very nice and safe. Go see ANA on the beach for your umbrellas etc. We (2 guys 2 girls) really liked Yaya, yes it is basic and you share bathrooms, but it is very good value for money. Sometimes... More

Yaya is a good deal for Ipanema. It is pretty clean too (I saw a place for the same price and it was not nearly as clean). It doesn't have much charm, and the rooms are bland. Of course, who wants to just sit in the room. The service is terrible, though, and one guy in particular consistently had his... More
