Nice clean, well located small hostel in Salvador. Michael and his staff are extremely helpful, it is small and personable and feels like a home away from home, which is invaluable in a place like Salvador. The only problem is the hammocks on the verandah overlooking the ocean are so nice it's hard to leave them and go explore the... More

Really nice and calm hostel with beautiful ocean view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is nice and clean. The tasty breakfast is served on the terrace with view on the ocean. The whole atmosphere is very enjoyable. The hostel is located close to the area Rio Vermelho with nice bars. Close by you can also find buses... More

I would like to recommend Albergue Pedra da Sereia. We stayed 4 nights and we had a great time. The location for us was excellent, as the albergue is located close to the university, where we attended a conference. At the same time it is right between Barra and Rio Vermelho, and right on Ondina beach. I especially liked the... More

APdeS is a great place to stay in Salvador. It's right on the beach and the hammock strewn balcony is the BEST place to hang out...you can lose yourself for hours up there! There is WiFi and the owner Michael is a fountain of info, super helpful and friendly: check he is going to be around when you book as... More

This is without a doubt the best hostel I have ever stayed in. I booked based on Trip Advisor reviews and they were all accurate. Michael, the owner, is amazing. He is an American who visited Salvador for 3 days, 26 years ago. haha. He knows everything there is to know about Salvador, even things to do outside Salvador. He... More

The hostel was the perfect place to stay during Carnaval! Didn't feel overcrowded, it has a really good group of people staying there, you get to know everyone since its small and has a very personal feel to it. The staff is very nice and very helpful, one of the women does laundry, and Michael is great, very knowledgeable about... More

We stayed here for 6 nights during carnival and loved it! Michael the owner made or stay- so helpful and friendly, and always around and offering advice and tips. The view is spectacular, nothing better then relaxing on the terrace in one of the hammocks after a BIG night at carnivale. Only about 500 meters walk to the end of... More

If u want to avoid mass tourism & boring hotels that could be in any city in the world, this place could be just what u want. If u are more interested in getting to see what makes Brazil tick than in a luxury holiday, this hostel is right up ur street. However, if u want to peer out at... More

This is the sort of place that reminds you that pleasure in life doesn't necessarily come at high price! The Albergue is a nice, clean and decent accomodation for people wanting to stay within budget but also escape the coast hotel concrete jungle! The owner, MIchael, will make your stay a unique and delightful experience, being always ready to help... More
