going anywhere from here means coping with Austin's freeway and franchises culture. Two three lanes "frontage" roads sandwich the 10 land highway. Driving to UT is stressful and slow. Better to stay downtown. Service was the usual gracious Marriott quality. Rooms are showing wear, bathrooms tiny. Breakfast expensive and bland.

Each person I came in contact with at this hotel were super. Nothing but smiles and extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean and fresh. The pool was nice and the spa smelled clean. The breakfast is a great value.Very close to many dining places and easy access to freeway.

This hotel does not yet have the Courtyard updates to lobby; judging by email received from the management, the update is imminent. The renovation is certainly due - the hotel is showing its age.
