I have loved the Columbia Hotel ever since I was in high school, when we would stay here on school trips to attend the plays. 30 years later, I still love it. I try to go every year to catch the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and am faithful to this hotel. I enjoy the European feel, the lovely lobby, and the... More

Ashland's Columbia Hotel brings the charm of an earlier time into the heart of the city's theater and restaurant district. Some three blocks from "the bricks" (the area between Oregon Shakespeare Festival's theaters and box office), the Columbia is a comfortable stroll from the most likely reason you've come to Ashland. And if you're more inclined to wander the natural... More

I have been staying at the Columbia Hotel for over thirty years, and consider it my home away from home when visiting Ashland. The staff is never less than attentive and pleasant, and the rooms always express the personal touches I have come to expect and appreciate. Regardless of what brings me to Ashland, the location of the Columbia is... More

The Columbia Hotel is not for those who want all of the ammenities. It is strictly for those who want to take a step back in time to a gentler era. After climbing the somewhat steep 31 steps from the street front to the hotel, you are greeted by the desk clerk...behind a wonderfully old fashioned front desk. The keys... More

This is a fabulous place to stay for comfort, location and charm. Our room had a small attached kitchenette as well, so we were able to keep our champagne cold and have breakfast at the small dining table that overlooked the outside roof patio. The charm is in the attention to all the small details so that I felt I... More

Our room ("spacious queen") had a quaint, cozy feel that was more like grandma's house than a sterile hotel room--I loved that. I felt more like I was staying in a guest room of a Victorian era home. What amazed me most were the bathrooms. Seriously. Maybe I started with low expectations for shared bathrooms, thinking of my experience with... More

I have been staying at the Columbia since the early 1980's while attending plays at the Shakespeare festival. I have stayed there as much as three times in a season with friends and family members, and sometimes on my own. I have experienced an evolution over the years and the friendly, peaceful, atmosphere is unparalleled. It is within walking distance... More

We stay at the Columbia Hotel for at least one two-night stay every year, in order to take in the fantastic plays at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The hotel is closer to the theaters than many of the parking spots that play-goers use. In fact, we can walk back to the hotel during intermission if need be. The hotel is an... More

Reservations online were a breeze. I got a room with a private bath no problem. We arrived at 10:00pm but no worries, there was an attendant and he wasn't behind glass. The hotel is gorgeous, great old architecture/design. Looks like all original. The original radiators in the hall were working! Tall ceilings, clean, clean, clean. Just gorgeous. Can't wait to... My husband and I have been attending the Oregon Shakespeare Festival since the mid 1980's. We haven't missed even one season. In the early '90's we began staying at the Columbia Hotel and haven't tried another lodging since. It's close to the theaters - you can park your car behind the hotel and leave it for your entire visit -... More
