We chose this hotel because we wanted something that was safe in terms of comfort. Fortunately we had everything we wanted for our tourism in Kyoto.
The room was small but within the Japanese standards. We had a shower with a delightful Japanese bath.
The breakfast was excellent, as is the restaurant in the same place. The dinner was delicious!...

It is easy to walk from teh hotel to bus stops, and the buses go to most tourist attractions. The decoration of the hotel is minimalist and zen. I stayed at two types of rooms-balcony king and corner double. The balcony king room, with the large wooden tub and marble floor, is luxury. The corner double, with seperated living and...

I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency last October / November for 2 weeks and was so impressed with the standards of service, beautiful room/bathroom , great restaurants and fantastic location right next to Sanjusangendo ! Our stay was just wonderful, thank you Ms Shimoda and Ms Sakura for your kindness and professional advises at all time.

The quiet location is soothing after the crowd of the city. Conveniently situated beside a bus stop and a short walk to the trains, it is very easy to get around. Everything is tasteful - cool but also cold. Still, you can't beat the the bathroom with all its amenities in a fitted drawer.

We stayed there two nights. Nice zen room, though our view was of the lower roof and tree tops. Spacious and clean, the deco was tasteful and, well, zen. Minimalist but practical, we liked the uncluttered country feel, and thought the place was clean and well kept. The service staff was extremely helpful and proactive, and offered some good tips...

We stayed at this hotel for three days in Jan 2012.
Nice hotel nice foyer and we had a nice western room with a few Japan style differences mainly in the bathroom and the shower.
Its not that well located, needing a taxi ride to town, and there are few restaurants in walking distance. We tried a walk to local...

We booked 3 rooms for our family trip to Kyoto. The lobby and room design is serene, peaceful, and very relaxing, fitting to Kyoto. The room is simple but has very nice carpeting, wall paper, and dark slate tiles in the bathroom, is very quiet and over looks the woods from the temple next door. Some of the downside is...

This hotel is an excellent choice.
When you first arrive you may well be ‘underwhelmed.’ The lobby and guest rooms are relatively simple and understated. No big grand entranceway here, nor ornate chandeliers, as you might see at a big-city high-rise hotel which is trying to impress.
But as your visit wears on you realize that the physical plant of...

The hotel is a little isolated but that makes it also a plus. It's quiet and low-rise, so you'll need to catch the buses to get to all the temples, but don't fear, it's not very hard.
My advice - buy a day ticket from the concierge and get used to the grid system of the buses and trains. The...
