reasonable walk from the station ..beautiful surrounds..great rooms ...great staff and service..my only complaint was for the price breakfast should have been included...I would recommend it as great place to stay but either be prepared to take your own breakfast provisions or save up the $50 AUS for 2 for breakfast....nearest shop about 1.5 km.

Stayed here as part of a tour, ate in the dining room one day & conference room the other, of the two the dining room was better but I have no complaints about the conference room. The food was good & plenty of it, the bedrooms comfortable and quite roomy. As we were on a tour bus it did not... More

This hotel is a little ways away from the busyness of Kyoto. It's very quite, and the rooms comfortable with an excellent view. The staff is friendly and most speak excellent English. There are two separate twin beds with very firm mattresses and very soft pillows. The breakfast is expensive but you do have both Western and Japanese options.

Rooms small, no wifi in rooms, bathroom in need of modernisation. Apart from that hotel is clean and convenient for a stopover. We stayed as part of a tour, which meant we were served breakfast in a conference-room.. Not particularly what I looked for and the breakfast itself was sub standard for a good hotel. That said, I can't comment... More

The location is although little distant from the downtown, but very green which makes the hotel just a good resort for a short time. Access is good - can get by metro and taxi; Rooms are big with good facilities and remarkably good amenities inside, views are green and bright. The hotel is a little bit "old school" and smells... It is a long cab ride and costly to get there but it is a beautiful location up in the mountains. If you want some peace and quiet - then this is the place... BUT it is an old school hotel - could use a face lift. We got lucky and they upgraded us to a suite and it was... More

If you're not too laden down with luggage, you can get here on the direct Karasuma Line from Kyoto Station in 20 minutes for 280 yen. Nice big rooms, but you are hostage to Japanese hotel prices - nothing convenient in the immediate area. If you share my sense of humor, try checking in a few minutes before the official... More

The hotel is OK, the bathroom has all and the room is large, but still it's too expensive. Don't take it unless you're going to the conference center and someone else pays for it. And don't use the "chinese buffet" inside the hotel for breakfast! It's extremely expensive. It's cheaper to take the subway (20 mins ride) to the center... More

Based on my experinece having stayed more than 10 hotels in Kyoto, probably this is the best. Although the locations is a bit far from the centre of Kyoto, you can enjoy some privileges like quiete, gorgeous atmosphere surrounded by nature. Breakfast is available in 3 restaurants, two buffet and one Japanese fixed menu. If you are attending a conference,... More
