We have been travelling for 7 months, and this was our best accomodation on the entire trip. Helpfull and supernice staff, really nice house and really well equiped kitchen. Our room was the treehouse right next to the small river which is running through the garden. It's a great value for money, too.

This hostel was really nice. There was a river going through the backyard with a hot-tub next to it. The rooms were spacious and clean, with nice bathrooms and hot showers. It was the best chill-out hostel experience I've had in Panama.

This hostel has it all -a great location, clean and spacious dorms/private rooms, fan-flipping-tastic outdoor spaces right along the river, a friendly social atmosphere, and a top-notch team of management and staff.  Refugio del Rio's awesomeness is unmatched by other hostels in town.  Two words: stay here.

This hostel had a great setting, peaceful and safe. The staff where very helpful and friendly They even laid on a free BBQ for the guests on Thursday evening! Rooms where clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling through Panama.

How great it was to stay here! realy awesome place with a lovely garden and creek with hammocks and nice chears and a jacuzzi! super clean rooms, kitchen and community areas. The owner and his staff are super helpfull in what to do and where to go for any budget.

There isn't anything awful to say about Hostal Refugio del Rio. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer than planned! The hostel is located right along the river and I enjoyed resting in the hammock or sitting in the Jacuzzi and listening to the river.
