We stayed only one night. We arrived in Hakone in the late morning and did the tourist spots for the day before checking into the hotel in the late evening 6 pm. Basically, it was a good place to rest for the night, plus there are both the out-door onsen (Yunosato Spa) and in-door onsen (within the hotel) to enjoy.... More

We stayed here one night, and did not book meals because reviews had indicated the food wasn't that good. It turned out to be a good choice because they have their own ramen restaurant in the basement, and the sister spa also has a restaurant that serves huge meals for 1500 yen. You can book without meals by going to... More

I wanted to experience the traditional ryokan atmosphere in Hakone, I chose this hotel. Since I'm a big fan of onsen, I booked a room with a roten buro (outdoor onsen). It'd have been great if it were kakenagashi (water runs automatically all the time without getting full), but unfortunately it wasn't. Our room was big and sleeping on tatami... More

We had a memorable time at Okada Hotel as it was our first ryokan experience for my 3 teenage boys and us. Although the hotel looked a little run down, we were contented with the cleanliness of our family room which had a private onsen in the corner of the balcony. We wore the neatly pressed yukatas that the hotel... More

Recently came back from the trip to Hakone. Hotel Okada has great (if somewhat dated) facilities. The Japanese style room was quite interesting. The onsen hot springs was a great experience and the dinner and breakfast buffet also has a great selection of food. However, to get to (and conversely from) the hotel you must take a shuttle bus from... More

Just came back from the ryokan trip. It is much better than what I expect with the low price of only 9900yen/pax (booked from Odakyu web). This is my first time experiencing ryokan but it was much more comfortable and enjoyable than I foresee with such a steal. Transport takes a little effort from Hakone-Yumoto station and a 100yen coin... More

This is the first time we are staying in a ryokan. Many new experiences to look forward to like kaiseki dinner, onsen, sleeping on the floor. Paid 56000 Yen for a package from Odakyu that includes RomanceCar tickets and Hakone freepasses. Access -- Take comfortable RomanceCar train from Shinjuku station. Ride from Tokyo about 1.5 - 2 hours. Once reached... More
