We booked the hotel in Nov 2012 to go there in Feb 2013, when we arrived the hotel was empty & being renovated & we had not been alerted. They provided alternative accommodation at a sister Hotel but I was very disappointed that we had not been contacted prior arrival.

The staff is helpful but depressed. The rooms are clean and big, but not where you want to hang out. Building qualit is poor. The food is fine except for the Nescafé at breakfast (who are all these people drinking Nescafé? Ive just stayed a week in the Golden Tulip , I think it has seen its best years and is appearing a bit dated now. Reception was good and check in was very efficent. Right place - staff were exceptionally good and helpful and friendly but you can only do so much with an old hotel that needs lots of work or even a full refurbishment. The parrot at the door is fun !I would have stayed elsewhere (at twice the price) despite the good service and great staff attitude.
