In early February, a friend and I stayed for 5 nights at Karama Lodge as a prelude to starting a week-long safari. We wanted a few days to explore Arusha and area and to recover from jet lag (coming from Vancouver, Canada). We found the lodge to be a perfect stopping place - with the pool, the welcoming staff and... More

We stayed for 3 days adjusting for jet lag prior to our safari and 1 day on return. Close to Arusha but away from the frenzy. The rooms are rustic but they were fine, food and service was better than expected. We are keen bird watchers, so were surprised at the lack of birds on the property but I found... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to safari. We loved the cabins on stilts and the rustic feel of the place. The buildings blended in beautifully to the surroundings. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean, if a bit rustic (think, only a curtain as a door on the toilet room and shower room). Nice feeling... More

We spent a very relaxing and restorative couple of nights in the lodge. The food and service were excellent and having the pool area almost to ourselves was idyllic. The decor and ambiance of the facility was delightful and really uplifting after a stressful few days in Arusha. The only downside that we experienced was the noise from what sounded... More

Karama lodge was the perfect start to our travel In Tanzania. Each room is built with a tree house feel, with balconies amidst trees, Mount Meru on the side and beautiful views of the Arusha valley! The best part of the Room was that you could draw the curtains and be protected from all the insects mosquitoes by the nets that... I stayed here one night after a safari in the serengeti. I thought the hotel setting was lovely. I did hear dog barks and the sounds of the suburb below but it was not disturbing. The traditional style room on stilts had a lovely bed with mosquito net and a very private balcony (though some rooms higher up will have... More

We have been her 5 and 2 yeats ago. We can see the difference. It was and is even more now in our opinion the best lodge in Arusha condering price and value. A new lodgemanager who knows what she must do and is doing the right things stimulates the improvement. A good staff and excellent cook compleets the right... More

We spend in total 7 nights at Karamalodge in Arusha (inbetween our mountain hike and safari) and we really loved it. The Lodge lies just out of town in a very quiet surrounding on a hill. The lodges are very spacious and really really clean. There is a seperate toilet and a shower with hot water. All lodges have a... More

Spent one night in Karama Lodge on our way to Ngorogoro Crater and the place was great. Clean, charming rooms. Very eco-friendly and the restaurant area is beautiful. We ate dinner which was delicious and the ambiance was fantastic. They also have a very nice pool and on a clear day you can see Kilimanjaro. Friendly staff and safe environment.
