I spent a total of 7 nights at the Kartini and enjoyed it very much. Found it to be clean, safe, well located and economical. Only downside was the nearby mosque and calls to prayer at all hours of the night. Spending some time in Bukittinggi at the Kartini is recommended though. Great little town, great little guest house!!

Nice little hotel in the center of Bukittinggi. Very clean basic room on the top floor with attached bathroom and warm water shower. Good breakfast included in the price (bread, butter, jam, pancake, egg, fruit, coffee or tea). Quiet street but mosque in the beginning of the street.
A pleasant quiet little hotel within walking distance of all the places you would want to visit in Bukittinggi. In a quiet street and next to a good cafe who offer tours of the area.
Our room was small with an attached bathroom - on the top floor with a nice view and private. Comfy bed and clean.
