Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great Hotel but unfortunately it is currently under corporate solvency by the banks. Used to be a 5-star hotel. Area is enormous with plentiful greenery & area for walking & jogging. Rooms are big, infrastructure is not up to mark that can be expected considering financial status of the hotel. Hopefully, new owner will make it great again. Even in its current state, it is worth staying for say if you are getting a 3-4 star hotel rate deal for its rooms.

A huge heritage property consist of ample of amenities in the hotel. Huge reception with beautiful design. Rooms are big and we stayed in two connecting rooms where my one year toddle enjoyed a lot. Clean rooms however maintenance of the property not well groomed. It need attention in terms of staffing and modern facilities at the resort. Big Restaurant available but hospitality treatment need to improve for best service.

The property is located very near to the Taj. This was my second stay with the hotel was expecting similar or better service over the years but was quite the opposite. The property wasn’t clean and fallen leaves weren’t being removed, fountains not working. The rooms were smelly , the staff said they would come to spray room freshner but no one came in our 2 days stay. You have to ask for toiletries and tea, including refills, the staff said these are on request. Day 1 water bottles were 60 mins post check in and request , rather we kept waiting for water on day 2 even after multiple requests to house keeping and reception eventually had to go and buy water bottles from outside. The restaurants inside were closed hence didn’t gather courage to order via room service, had to go out for food. The breakfast had limited options which were repeated the next day , food was ok. Staying here seems living in place that can close down any time. Best is to avoid the place and look for better options.

I want to give you my feedback on my stay at orient Taj in Agra on 21st Nov - 22nd Nov. technically only 22nd as we reached the hotel only at 1:30 am on 22nd. From the outside the hotel looked really impressive and inviting. However once you reach the gate the story is completely different. First impression with the security was strange as they looked like untrained guards. As soon we reached the lobby there was no one to help us with our luggage nor anyone to guide us. Surprisingly there was no attendant in the lobby area it had a completely deserted look to it, quite scary honestly. We found one security guy in a corner asked him for help. He called one guy who dint reach there for 15 mins, he asked us for our booking ID but had no way to track it in the system he kept wasting time for next 15 mins pretending to do something on the system, i dont think the system was working. Upon pressuring him he let us in and gave us one room. I had to wait for another 15 mins outside my room to get the proper keys and enter my room. Meanwhile on our way to our room there was a dead pegions right over our head. Once we entered the room our disappointment continued, the room was in really bad shape with paint pealing of the walls, furniture was in bad shape. The bathrooms were like public toilets (never seen such bad bathrooms in any hotel) After all this we still couldn’t get a good sleep for a few hours that we had to spend there thanks to the mosquitoes 100’of them. On check out again we came across staff that had no clue. Their system was down and they could not provide us with a proper tax invoice (which now you need to get for us, need a proper tax invoice) Their CC machines were not working properly and only accepted pins when put for the 3rd time. This was the worst 6000 spent on a hotel ever, pls dont give this room to anyone

If before booking, you ignore all the reviews with warnings about a crumbling property with inattentive staff, then you deserve what will then out to be your worst stay experience of your time in India. The photos look amazing, leading you to believe the people giving one - star reviews were being difficult or are unjustified in their views--that it will turn it different for you. WRONG. Stay at the Radisson for cheaper or the Crystal Sarovar nearby to match the superior location. Pricier Ramada would deliver for similar $ spend. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Unless you enjoy hunting dark corridors for staff to change sheets and can't get anyone at the front desk or on phones that do not work. On the way out, the driver who I arranged, because the staff could not, told me this hotel was once an Oberoi and Wyndham property. Those must have been glorious years. Those golden years can only be found in the OLD photos used to deceive and market this place to unsuspecting visitors. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. STAY AWAY. NOV 20, 2018.
