Rented one of the 1 bedroom cabins, Elk 1 - very quiet, very clean, visited with the staff when we checked in, they took us to the cabin making sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. There was only a couple of things that would have made the cabin a perfect place, the living room furniture was very... More

What a fabulous experience!! Easy reservations and deposit made via email and over the phone. The website accurately depicts what the cabins look like and they are wonderful!! The property owners greeted us very warmly and walked us over to the cabin so we knew what all was available and where everything was. Beautiful modern cabins!! We were briefed on... More

We spent three nights in Elk 2 cabin and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were four of us and the two bedroom cabin fit us perfectly. Everything was spotlessly clean and the decor and design were modern and convenient. The front porch was large and had comfortable seating. The Retreat is a few miles south of Angel Fire and feels isolated and... More

This was out 4th stay in the past couple of years. There are 10 modern cabins, both one and 2 bedrooms, which are scattered around a wooded mountainside. The cabins are completely modern inside with all you'd expect with appliances and utensils, linens, satellite TV, etc. All have a front porch where you can sit and enjoy the setting and... More

We enjoyed our recent week at The Retreat very much. The cabin was clean and well appointed and viewing the mountain setting from the spacious front porch was awesome. It is a good central location to enjoy beautiful drives around Angel Fire and the surrounding area. Watching the wildlife (including a bear!) was an unforgettable part of an overall great... More

The Managment Staff was great! Neil and Rachel made my stay wonderful! The place was perfect! I will stay again. I hope very soon! The place was larger than I anticipated. Very clean with TV which, was helpful with all the fires and flooding that I wanted to track.

I was looking for a cabin that was private and quiet when I saw the reviews on tripadvisor. I have to agree that this is a unique and wonderful place if you are looking for some solace in nature. The cabin where I stayed was The most remote and closest to the hiking trail into the national forest. I watched... More

My wife and I stayed at the retreat in Angelfire for a night (which, in that area is a really hard thing to find, most hotels in Red River and Angelfire require at least two nights). The cabins were HUGE and well spaced out. The site had access to hiking trails in the national forest that could be walked to... More

After several nights of staying in blah motels, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to discover our dream getaway... mountain cabins in the woods, away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. We loved the long porch deck that faced the mountains. Morning coffee on the deck watching the nature around us was a wonderful experience. Elk walked past... More
