We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed it so much that we returned for a further 3 days after we had been on a mountain road trip. Very welcoming and friendly family. The rooms are well kept and the family cannot do enough for you. We had breakfast on our last day and regretted not having done this earlier... More

Our stay with Harry proved to be one of our most memorable experiences in Kerela. If you want a true homestay experience then this is it . Sithara is the lovely home of Harry and Mercy and is set on a quite lane just 5 minutes walk into the centre of Fort Kochi and just around the corner from the... More

Harry and Mercy are such adorable people who make you feel at home! Staying in their homestay is like spending a few days with your favorite uncle and aunty! Beside, their home is well located in Fort Kochi....and the food is great!

Ok folks, this is the real deal. A exemplary homestay in a great town full of homestays. Harry and Macy are two of the nicest people my wife and I have met in India, and we spent many hours during our three days here just hanging out at the breakfast table talking about life. The breakfasts are good. But if... More

Put Sithara in perspective (based upon the price you are paying) and you could do a lot worse in Fort Cochin. In fact I'd be hard pushed to say you could find little better. Staying with Harry and his family was a comfortable delight. The real reason for staying here is to meet and chat with Harry himself. He really... More

We arrived without a booking and was offered a room straight away. The host was very welcoming and friendly. The room was good value for money but could do with a lick of paint and a dust! However it was average size with tv / ac / fan but no wi fi. We felt uncomfortable with the host wanting to... More

Sithara Homestay, run by Harry and his wife, is a little out of the hustle and bustle of down town Fort Cochin - which is a good thing. It only takes 5 mins to walk into the centre, or less in a rickshaw. Just round the corner is Dal Roti, which is a fantastic place for lunch and or dinner.... More

I've lived in Kochi for just under three years, but my home is on Mulavukad (Bolgatty) Island, closer to Ernakulam (Kochi's commercial centre) than the pretty tourist-beloved Fort Cochin. So when friends said they would be coming for Christmas and asked me to find them a homestay, I booked my partner and myself into Harry's place too. We wouldn't have... More

As mentioned by other reviewers, Mr. Harry’s hospitability at Sithara is indeed what stands out most in this homestay. . When we arrived after a four hour long journey, we were greeted with a lovely Kerala meal. The food was excellent, and was cooked my Mr. Harry’s wife herself. She readily shared the recipes with my partner, a food enthusiast.... More

We had a wonderful few days here. Harry and his family were friendly and helpful, and will cook delicious food to suite any taste (definitely take him up on the offer of an evening meal). The rooms were clean and there was easy internet access. The location was great - a few moments walk to the sea and to an... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Sithara Homestay welcomes you to Kerala, the nature lover’s wonderland, for an amazing experience. Kerala, a sliver of land located at the southernmost tip of India is 560 km long with lofty mountain ranges gracing one side and washed by the blue Arabian Sea on the other. Popularly known as ‘God's own country’, Kerala is viewed and listed by the National Geographic Traveler as one of the 50 places of a lifetime to be visited. Enjoy and explore Kerala in the ambiance of a traditional kerala house with us at Sithara Homestay. Situated on one of the streets of Fort Cochin, Sithara Homestay caters to the taste and needs of the discerning tourists. Present on a street studded with numerous ancient buildings conjuring up an aura of yore. An ideal place to start your discovery of the place and to plan and explore the beauty of Kerala. Fort Cochin is one of the sections of Cochin (The industrial Capital of Kerala), tucked between the Arabian Sea & the backwaters. Situated on a peninsula in the west linked by a complex system of ferries and unimaginatively made bridges, Fort Cochin shares the western location with Mattancherry as its other geographical ally of the old districts, while the eastern part is occupied by modern Ernakulam. ... more   less
