this hotel is unique. got a duplex. there was amazing view from the balcony, of a small waterfall! which was right in front of the patio doors just a few meters from us and a jungle like view. what ruined it was that it smelled damp like mold. the outside lobby terrace is amazing with views to hong kong. its a big resort with a lot of play areas outside, way to breakfast is outdoors overlooking some pond with a smoke coming out of it, and the breakfast area over looks it. very chinese and most tourists there are chinese. its a bit worn down and obviously not new. also, its far away from Shenzhen site seeing with at least a 45 cab drive to downtown.

The concept of this resort is good and the location beautiful but the facilities are not on par by a long shot. I stayed in a treehouse which was old and worn. The floor was dirty and there were ants all over. At one point the air conditioning leaked a lot of water and I did call for assistance that never came. In fairness the staff didn’t speak much English but I used a translator app to ensure understanding. All the area facilities need some care and updating. The views are beautiful and the surroundings are full of nature. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying here and I’d just visit for part of a day instead.

Stayed in a log cabin up on the hillside and was really impressed with the interior especially the deep bath. It had a little wear and tear inside but it was very cosy and unique up a steep footpath. If you have accessible needs its probably not for you. Didnt try the breakfast however the better half said I wouldnt have enjoyed it due to a lack of western options. There is a large park attached to the hotel that has all sorts going on, so if you have kids they will enjoy it. I would stay here again if i was in the area.

There are a lot going for this theme park hotel. I could have spent an entire day just photographing the butterflies in the park; or just chill out by the pool. Yet, the negatives just irked me. What really ticked me off is the smell of cigarette in our room. Not only did they not have a non smoking rooms; strangely, they have post signs for not allowing smoking in rooms, and when you visit the restaurant, they make patrons snuff out their cigarettes. Yet, they have ashtrays in the room to promote smoking. We had to open the sliding door for half a day before I could breath easier. I woke up the next day with a bit of a sore throat. On top of that, in typical Mainland manner, there is a lack care with their staff. I found a comb, a pen, and a pencil that is wrapped up in a ball of dust underneath the cushion blocks that were at the top of the bed. The commode smelled, that was probably from the bad plumbing. The elevator smelled of typical Mainland elevators, it smelled like cigarettes. The resort could not get us a cab to head out. In fact, when we arrived, the taxi driver dropped us off at the foot of the hill. Usually, the guards would come and enquire about, and let the taxi up all the way to hotels' entrances. In this case, the guard just kept slacking off. This tells me that most drivers don't wish to go to this resort for some reason. We booked the duplex, bad idea. The bed, or the cloth-on-board, on the loft was too hard, I could not sleep well. Furthermore, the A/C blows out of the bottom of the bed directly downstairs leaving the room rather stuffy. The curtains were too small for the window; you would get a good dose of sunshine bright and early. There are probably better choice for the price we paid. The park and the restaurant would be a great place to visit, however.

Vistited twice over the summer as day trips from HK. Great place for kids and adults with more than enough for a days entertainment. The on-site restaurant is good value and serves better than expected food in a covered open-sided non-Aircon space. It is a lovely change from the usual arctic eateries of HK. Be brave, jump in a cab at the boarder and give it a blast!

Unbeatable prices, fantastic service and a very pleasant stay. I stayed at a tree house. Very clean, no frills. Complimentary breakfast was quite good, all this for 350 rmb! Loghouses are even better but slightly more expensive. Location is a little far out, but theres a bus # 369 which starts from inside the resort. In fact they are all parked a 2 minute walk from the gate. This bus has a frequency of every 5 minutes! It takes you to Touyuan station (name of bus stop is Nanshan Hospital). From Touyuan you can catch the MTR and go to any corner of Shenzhen. Make sure you ask the receptionist to write down "Nanshan Hospital" and "Touyuan" in chinese, so you can show it to the bus captain. This way the captain will let you know when your stop arrives. Very few people read or speak english, but they will still go out of their way to help you out with directions... The hotel staff doesn't speak english, though a couple of receptionists do. Ordering at restaurants is a little tricky due to the language problem. I would highly recommend the Western Restaurant. They make excellent food. I tried a number of dishes over 3 days, all made to perfection. The chinese restaurant seemed very popular and always packed, but the food may not agree to western pallets. The resort itself is worth seeing. Lots of things to do especially for kids. See pictures for more...

This is a sprawling resort with heaps to do. It is a natural wilderness created in the midst of bustling high rises. It therefore took me by complete surprise. Very pleasing with many restaurants, excellent food.

The hotel is located in Nashan, within the evergreen park. It is within the Shenzhen city but you do not feel it as there is a lot of vegatation and wildlife there. The tree house is good value of money, which is basic but adequate. There is plenty of attractions in the park for the kids (and adults) and the service is good. The swimming pool is not huge but ok. The food is nice too. A bit noisy and crowded over the weekend but very quiet and relaxing on weedays.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is out of the ordinary in Shenzhen then this is it! The hotel is part of a park that includes children's amusements, a butterfly farm, tropical rainforest valley with Amazonian fish aquaria, live music amphitheatre at weekends, and raw forest to walk around. We stayed in a Tree House which is a very basic room with TV and air conditioning, the only 'luxuries' being a bathroom with shower and a balcony. But it is located in the forest and is peaceful and different (they call it a 'love nest' and we can see why!) with birds, insects and trees all around. One of the best features of the resort is the Garden Restaurant which serves superb Chinese food using mainly ingredients grown in the park. They even have their own Tofu factory. Buffet breakfast is good too. Look to spend a day here to get the most out of the Park, there's a variety of things to do and lots for children. Downsides are that the swimming pool is not huge and is busy, the Park is crowded on Saturdays with visitors, and there are no 'five star' luxuries unless you book the deluxe villa. You can also hear distant 'thunder' from the containers at Shenzhen port at night, but on the other hand there's no traffic noise! Recommended if you want somewhere that isn't a 'hotel'.
