We stayed in a double room with private bathroom for 180BOB. The bed was enormous and really comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We also had a good TV and a safe. The breakfast was great (hot drink, rolls, scrambled egg, jam, pineapple and bananas) and the owner was really friendly. The wifi was pretty rubbish (no good for... More

I found the hostal in the guidebook I was using (2012 Footprints Handbook). While they are great guides, they aren't bibles, and I realized over time that the recos are sometimes overrated or outdated. So always cross reference on other sites, like Tripadvisor, for more up to date reviews... NOTE: This review is for the annex. There was no availability... More

Good hostel for Bolivia, but nothing special. Amazing breakfast!! There was a good vibe, met interesting people. Very close to the center, 5 min walking. They have a renowned travel agency. Great working wi-fi. I would stay there again. Reception were helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our experience here at all. When we arrived at the main hostel we were shown to our room which was dark, not that clean and there was a bad smell from the bathroom. It was also just beside the main common area which was fine but the window in the room didn't close so we knew... More

It was a good hostel in terms of size and services. But the actual service was lacking. There are two spots where they have rooms the first one we went to cause its the only obvious one. Once we asked questions and noticed our friends weren't checked in we asked about the other spot and the woman gave me an... More

We stayed in the annex part of this hostel. I would recommend staying in the main part, as that's where all the main facilities are, including a well stocked DVD/TV room an more comfortable social area. Our room was fine, if a little dark and aged. The breakfast is great and the staff are cheeky and fun. We also is... More

We stayed in the annexe part of koala den in a four bed dorm. Brilliant value for money - beds were very comfy and warm with plenty of blankets (you need them at that altitude!). The shower was AMAZING! Best in South America so far, hot and powerful! Breakfast is provided however its a bit slow, we had to leave... More

This is a very calm an nice hostal. There was no parties and no drunk people around being loud, and that was actually pretty good for us because we were very tired from our first days in Bolivia. Also, it is beautiful and colorful and that makes you feel good. The beds were comfortable and they managed to put me... More

Stayed 2 nights and it did what it says on the tin. Our double room was large, warm, clean, had a heater, TV and a hot shower. The breakfast was the usual of bread & jam but we also had watermelon, bananas, eggs, hot chocolate as well as tea & coffee. Although we didn’t do it, the hostal offered mine... More

Pro: - near centre - meet other travellers - warm shower - good mattress - relatively extensive breakfast - can organise tours (but competitors are better) - enough blanket to keep you warm - clean and safe Con: - noisy patio - hardly anyone at desk - desinterested personnel - we had to beg 3 times to pay - breakfast...
