As someone who has spent time in hotels and hotels in Montevideo, I have to say that Puntoberro is one of the nicest places I´ve seen in my travels. It is not even like being in a hostel but more like staying in the home of a good friend. The proprietors Gaby and Juan are always on the premises, making... More

Just there January 2013 and bedbugs in a shared room. Luckily, I felt them within a few minutes and saw them - everywhere. The hostel worker looked for another room and as a solo female traveler, I didn't want to share a room with 2 Brazilian older men so I slept in the staff room. Good thing = they didn't... More

We went on Christmas Eve, it was nice to hang out with them. I thought I'd miss the warmth of home, but the staff and other guests celebrated with a barbecue and good wine hosted by the hotel. Clean rooms, shared bathroom (there is only one suite with private bathroom), the bathroom cleaning was ok, much depends on the current... More

Though is well located, in general its not very clean and tidy. The common places are small and the bathrooms are not clean at all. Wiffi is very week in the rooms and the transfer they offer to the airport is expensive. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is ok. I heard there are no other choices, so I... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the location is great. Safe and only minutes to the beach.

A last minute split decision brought us to Punto Berro... we weren´t sure what we were getting ourselves into. We woke up the next morning to being 3 blocks from the beach and a staff that was super great, sweet and helpful. The rooms and showers were clean and spacious. The best room we stayed in was the 8 bed... More

The best thing about this place is it's close location to playa Pocitos. The room with air conditioning means there is AC but it is controlled from the reception so you can't turn it on/off in your room. You have to ask the staff to do it. Breakfast was basic. This hostel is also somewhat more expensive than those in... More

We had a private double upstairs with a window overlooking the yard and back garden. The shared bathroom closest to the room had no working light so they plugged a lamp in! A bit strange. There were often queues for the bathrooms but they were clean. A nice kitchen and eating area inside and outside. Great hammock. Free tea and... More

Had booked a room on their site with ensuite bath a week or 2 in advance. Only when I got there late at night was I informed that it was not available. Had to climb the stairs to get a shower or use the toilet... I would have appreciated to be notified before. Although I paid less It is the... More

Me and my wife stayed here for four nights. We reserved a private room through a website, but when we arrived, they didn't have a record of it. They were really accommodating, though, and found places for us to stay each night. The staff is really nice, one or two of them speak decent English. There's free coffee and toast... More
