This was our home during our recent visit to Cuenca. The location is great as it is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the river is very relaxing. Breakfast was very good and the staff spoke enough English that with our limited Spanish, we could still communicate. My experience in Cuenca was amazing and the Hotal Casa del Barranco was very good. The hostel was clean and beautiful. The old decoration is appealing. Only one advise: People in the reception should speak enlgish. For the rest is very good.

This hostal has rates that do not go with their accommodations. Fice include breakfast and you get coffee and bread ... The other bonus .. Loud noise. There is no hot water. Este hostal tiene tarifas que no van con sus acomodaciones. Fice incluir desayuno y te dan cafe y pan... Lo demas extra.. Ruido alto. No hay agua caliente.

Our room was comfy but quite dark and small for the price we paid (35 USD). What we liked were the large terraces with riverview, a great place to relax! And the location is perfect: directly on the mainstreet and only 10 minutes walk from the main plaza. Good laundry-service!

Most rooms have a queen size bed and 4 twin beds in an upper loft. Rates are by the person starting at $29.00 for the first person, $39.00 for two and so on. Clean and quiet with a great view of Cuenca on the rear balcony.
